ya'll who's up for group meowing

the aircraft emergency frequency (known as GUARD in the usa) is SUPPOSED to be used for emergencies. the frequency is 121.5 mhz. it is for all international air distress and emergencies and stuff (theres a different one for military)

however. for some goddamn reason. for at least the past ten years (maybe more) there has been meowing. random pilots going “meowww!” on the emergency frequency. this is often followed by at least 8 different people yelling “GUARRRRD” “YOUR ON GUARD” “STOP FUCKING MEOWING” and at least 3 others meowing also.

i have a radio and often tune into this frequency if i want to hear local airplane pilots/control tower operators act like absolute fools.

here’s some operators using GUARD to try to contact a flight that went missing (they found them) and just the absolute nonsense, the one guy spamming caribbean music, the voice changer, and the meowing and guard police are so fucking funny. GUARD is always doing shit like this. its great. (note that he isnt on the frequency until 1:30, so the other shit is just normal coworker conversations. “who the fuck eats honeydew” is just two coworkers not abusing resources).

usually radio etiquette is a lot more professional for these guys but mistakes do happen. people tend to be pretty quick on the jokes tho. if you ever want to listen to the funniest shit ever a lot of amateur radio operators upload the funniest dialogue they catch on youtube pretty often.

Yes, unfortunately this is true. Pilots are children. And since we're all legally obligated to monitor guard at all times when able, these guys know they always have an audience. Things I've also heard on guard include:

• someone barking, which was nice variety and very much appreciated to see more canine representation in my field

• airline captains making full cabin announcements, not realizing they were transmitting, followed by several other pilots asking questions as if they were in the cabin

• airline captain making about half a cabin announcement before stopping cold, pausing for about 3 seconds, and mumbling "...I am so fucking sorry," then presumably making the announcement again to his actual cabin

• two pilots for different airlines speaking Italian to each other (one of these was actually my captain, the other guy was a friend from his last job)

• pilot doing a radio shockjock voice saying "aaalrighty folks you're listening to one-twenty-one-point-five the GUARRRRRRD, bringing you the lastest in aviation disasters, mishaps, and tragedieesss! Up next, four more hours of nonstop cat soundssssss!"

Last year I was dabbling with creating a series of dice-lists to generate mystery dragons as a challenge. after years n years on the internet n being transgender, i finally got converted in2 a furry yesterday completely unexpectedly in just a matter of hours. Ozai is so pathetic, like that “take his bending away haha he’s harmless now” trick would never have worked on Zuko, if you took his bending away he’d just grab his swords and come at you twice as hard, Azula doesn’t have swords or anything but she’s pretty good at hand to hand and amazing at talking her way out of problems, Iroh bust himself out of prison with no bending at all, meanwhile Ozai? Gets his bending taken away and then just collapses, doesn’t even try anymore, then just sits in prison and tries to get into Zuko’s head some more, he could have trained up and tried to break out too! But no! Bet he can’t break steel bars with his bare hands. Bet he can’t kick a steel lever in two. Bet he can’t even do a flip.

Also we never really see him do any really impressive firebending apart from when he has magic comet power, I guesss he shoots some lightning at Zuko, but that’s it and Azula is still better at the lightning thing. Azula has blue flames. Zuko can do firebreakdancing and bend with his swords. Does Ozai, who is not 14 years old, have blue flames? No he doesn’t.

He didn’t even do his coup himself, Ursa had to kill Azulon for him! Could have just challenged Iroh to an Agni Kai for the throne but he didn’t bc he knew he’d lose.

And then he only ruled for like 6 years! He lost a war that had been going on for 100 years bc of a bunch of kids.

Over the weekend I was chaperoning at a local convention, and figured I should test out my updated dice list for generating random dragons to design as a possible mystery design series for commissions. The design itself ended up setting it as a contender sample for the Handkiller tier of the four complexity tiers I'm planning for the series. The results that led to this creature was - Winged Serpent with an Aerial lifestyle, no creature influence, that lives in Aquatic (Freshwater) biomes with the element of Fungi. This led me to choose a not-quite fully aquatic beast that thrived more in marshy swampland with its adornment of tree and ground fungi to blend into its environment as an ambush predator - using its stumpy wings to heft itself up into trees and blend in before dropping down on their chosen prey to deal a devastating bite with its massive teeth.

My dice seem to be rather fond of serpents and fungi…

Realized I've let this account gather dust longer than I planned, so let's fix that! Starting things off with a pair of trial badges I've made for samples to use when I open up commissions for them. These would probably be my standard type of badge from the three variants I plan to open with - the other two being headshot and fullbodies. All of my badges would come with the ability to pick either borderless as seen on Olani, or with a border as seen on Ghilli. I've got a few other test/sample drafts prepped or started, and they'll be posted as soon as they're ready too before I compile the final commission form for these!
