why are time loops always only like 1 day long?
the real horror is a months or years long time loop. no speedrunning your torture here. you have to sit with the consequences of your actions for a loooong time before the release of knowing the consequences and actions have been erased.
but oh, all the actions and consequences are gone. those relationships you built? empty. you can never build them again without the constant guilt of knowing that it's not as real the second, third, thirtieth time when you already know all their secrets and they none of yours.
but you can't hide. you can't isolate yourself because what if this is the time the loop breaks and then what? years gone by of missed chances with people who have changed you a thousand times and now circumstances have changed. you can never build back what was washed away by your own inaction. they'll never be able to meet you like they did the first time if you don't choose to meet them the first time every time

This fic has been on my to-do list for a long time, and serendipitously got pushed up for me to do RIGHT NOW because I needed a fic I could use to demonstrate layering boards for cutouts for a class @pleasantboatpress and I taught for Binderary. @finalfrontierpublishing had a great typeset, so I rushed to get the text ready enough for the class demo that I could start the cover... and then things got out of hand. Whoops.
I started with a basic circle cutout for the globe, which then grew a secondary layer for me to sandwich copper wires into. Atlas got printed onto marbled paper and added in on top. Then I developed a plan to have the moon-earth orbits, etc on the cover...
...and I needed a sun & I had this awesome paper I decided to use for endpapers, so we get a stupid complicated paper inset too...
...and I had been meaning to try out French double core endbands so why not do those in the colors of the earth from space...
Annnnnd then I was going to a box-making class & this is the kind of delicate that kinda needs one. so. here we are!

this probably would've made the show worse but i wish in s6 when tara and willow are broken up and buffys all secretive because she's seeing spike and she covertly asks tara to help her work out why spike can hurt her they dragged that out for a little longer and the scooby gang suspect buffy is dating tara. this would not be approached with any tact at all. it would push the queer rights movement back by decades if anything. but it would've been very fun for me personally
guys think about it. hanging out with tara behind our backs? sneaking around and not telling us where she's going? maybe when we brought buffy back to life we turned her into a lesbian?

I'd just like to clarify some things about Senator Cory Booker's marathon Senate speech in protest of the present administration and everything they are doing to the American people.
Senator Booker was NOT allowed to sit down, eat, or use the bathroom during his speech. Sitting or leaving the room to use the bathroom would be considered yielding the floor. Eating would have interfered with his speaking and the person who has the senate floor must continue to speak, except when listening to questions that they will then answer.
He only took occasional sips of water.
The person who previously held the record for longest speech on the Senate floor did have bathroom breaks and also did things like read from the encyclopedia.
Senator Booker did not do that. His speech was to point out the damage that this administration is doing and he stayed on that subject.
Senator Booker's speech did reach many people. It wasn't a silly stunt that was done so that he could take the record for longest speech. He wanted to show the country that democrats will do something to bring attention to the problems we are facing. That democrats are listening to them.
Senator Cory Booker spoke for 25 hours and 4 minutes to "make good trouble."

He trained himself to give this speech by practicing and then implementing limits on food and water intake leading up to this. He cut out food for days, then cut out water the day before.
He then went to do an appearance on Maddow after yielding.

the thing about being nonbinary is that you really do start to forget that other people have such strict walls around what is and isnโt allowed for genders. i thought we all agreed that we made that up. could you climb out of the cave real quick and feel the sunshine for a minute.
Do we think "Israel" brazenly bragging about not allowing humanitarian aid through the border will be enough for people to stop scolding Gazans for making individual/family fundraisers because "it's better to donate to trusted orgs instead" or are they never going to get it?
Don't let your anxiety cause inaction, especially since there are people spending an incredible amount of effort to weed out the scammers and ease your anxiety about scammers. I don't know what else to do short of begging. Please don't let them starve. All my friends in Gaza are asking me why their campaigns are stagnating and I don't know how to answer them.

A lot of parents shouldnโt be parents. Which is not me advocating for eugenics. Sex ed, abortion and birth control should be free and easily accessible and we should create culture that doesnโt treat reproducing as inherently altruistic and moral and makes it more acceptable to choose not to have kids. Itโs an extremely weighty irreversible choice but it should always be a choice. You should have a damn good reason to have a child instead of it being something you do to tick off a box. If you donโt like kids and you donโt want to sacrifice your time and money to your kids, donโt have a kid. This isnโt an anti-parent anti-kid kid rant, itโs just so sad to see how many parents are kind of meh about their kids or straight up open about regretting them and to remember how many of my friends and classmates growing up had shitty parent horror stories.
