Hello, Welcome to my blog! Here's a rundown of my featured tags and the main content on this blog! This is a silly focused blog, so I only post/reblog content about controversies/politics every once in awhile, and only if I think it's super important. Feel free to send me an ask about my opinions, but don't expect a super in depth answer

#Art - I only tag my personal art with this, and as I'm an artist this is a pretty big chunk of my blog aside from reblogs

#[fandom here] ranch dip - this is my tag for posts that are only interesting if you like whatever topic it is, ex: #original ranch dip which is for any OC content and #obj ranch dip which is for object show stuff. I don't tag any of my #reposts [reblogs] with ranch dips!

#talk talks - anything that's my own posts - it used to be for whenever I'm ranting and it's a long post, but it's fucked up because I used to put it on reblogs so just dont go near the beginning of the account

how do you use these?

Put these on the top layer above everything, set layer to 'overlay' then adjust opacity. You can put it on whatever opacity you want but usually 30%+ is most effective.

The point is to obstruct the picture so AI can't read your image because AI counts every single pixel in your art

Hate to be the one to break it to y'all but uh... This is more tiktok bunk.

It is absolutely not going to prevent a model from being trained effectively on an input image by setting a semi-opaque noise pattern over it. The entire thought process is flawed??? Deeply. Models don't exactly "count every pixel"???? [ where is this information coming from??? This is insane. ] and even if they did, shifting each ones color by a semi-arbitrary amount, leaving the art itself visible, is not going to do anything but cause any renders based on labels used for your style [which is probably not even being bothered with at this point, unless you're incredibly talented or draw really novel porn] to possibly be shidded out with a similar noise pattern. (though, honestly, training a model to output in a way that ignores these patterns would be trivial, especially since they've been posted publicly and consist of a very small sample size. Literally imagemagick and thirty minutes of scripting with a dataset of images to duplicate with these overlays would be all that's required to generate a dataset to counter even the tiny amount of noise these are introducing. And that's to entirely ignore the fact that training a LORA on custom art is so trivial anyone could do it. )

Also, the "Ai" is not sniffing the entire internet, eating every image automatically, and training against it. Datasets have to be collected, curated, labeled, and built, in a multi-step process, even today. That's why uploading "poisoned" art doesn't work.

Your understanding of the technology you are trying to wield amounts to a clumsily shoveled together superstition based on here-say and misunderstandings of diffusion as a process.

There's already been two reblogs off this with tags talking about how glaze and nightshade are the only systems proven to work.

They do not work.

If they ever had any functionality at all its because, like Artshield, they used Stable Diffusion and a pixel watermark from SD is used to filter some scraping processes to prevent model collapse, which, it turns out, doesn't really seem to be a thing. The only other way that these products provide any proven functionality is that they reduce the quality of work to a point that it may become unappealing to use.

And you can get that for free with a few saves at maximum jpg compression.

Do not assume snake oil functions because you want it to.

also if anyone has knowledge of scam bot repellent please give me it the only thing I can think of that's causing it is following a few people that post scam asks that are mutuals from discord and stuff so I can't unfollow them

This pretty much hits the nail on the head for me. I've been contemplating BlueSky but it just seems so different from Tumblr.

Like this is a geeky hangout in someone's basement that we just kinda cruise between the tables for conversations and passing around posts and pics and writing and such, while other social sites seem so open. Impersonal.

Tumblr's like summer camp.

Other sites are like sitting in a giant auditorium, where we're all talking at the same time, waving our posts around hoping someone will find them.

It just doesn't feel the same and if this site goes down, I dunno that I'd bother going anywhere else to essentially start over. I like Tumblr. I'm comfortable here. There are some fun people here. And I really don't want to lose that.

#as someone who has bluesky but doesnt use it i feel the opposite#other social media sites and especially bluesky feel like your walking into a tiny room and the moment you walk in everyone is judging you#one wrong move and your gonna get kicked out of the room and the door gets locked#but tumblr feels like a comic-con where if you trip over your feet into a trashcan the worst that happens is a trip to the cosplay medic#bluesky is nice theres a reason i even have an account but its. not as welcoming as tumblr in the slightest#talk talks??

#the first glasses prescription i ever got was The Same as my Father who had glasses since he was like 3#. i was addicted to reading magic tree house past midnight when i was a very small child#i will die on the hill that my poor eyesight was caused by low light reading and not by electronics til the day i die#very luckily though i am in fact able to see [by my standards and no one elses] to take my glasses off#i dont because for some reason people react like im a victorian woman showing some ankle but i can still see basic shit#my glasses also always have cracks on them and i just live with it so maybe thats why im so fine with not having my glasses#also for some reason when i meet new people they never wanna trade glasses for a minute or two :[#when i didnt have glasses the ONLY thing i wanted to do was try on other peoples glasses WHY WONT ANYONE TRADE WITH ME#talk talks??
