Why do you think Azriel was in love with Mor for 500 years? That's a very long time. Do you think he knew about her sexuality vaguely?

I think Azriel was in love with Mor for a while, a few decades, maybe even one/two centuries if we want to exaggerate. But then, I think, it wasn't love anymore. He must have realized at some point that, for whatever reason, she was never going to love him back. And yes, I think he knows (or at least suspects) about her sexuality. He's the spymaster and they all go to Rita's together and he hasn't figured it out? Especially when those shadows of his whisper to him things no one knows?

I think the reason why he hasn't let go of Mor yet is that it feels "safer", in a way. We know he doesn't think himself worthy of love, so going after Mor even if she's not interested and not letting himself move on from her is what he deserves (in his mind). He can live with that because he's now used to it, but if he finds someone else and he falls in love, he'd have to get used to their rejection too. That's what I mean when I say he feels "safer" that way.

Does it make sense? Because you're right. 500 years is a very long time to be in love with someone who doesn't want you. I mean, Constantinople and the Easter Roman Empire fell a bit more than 500 years ago. Columbus arrived in America 533 years and the bat boys are a couple years older than that. It's impossible his love for Mor is that deep and strong if she never returned his feelings. Even if they saw each other every day.

I need you to understand that when I say "comments are appreciated!" I mean that I will reply to every one of them. I mean that an email with an ao3 notification has a higher priority than a message from my mother. I mean that I will have entire discussions in the comment section if you're up for it. Message me on tumblr and I will have the same discussions on an even more unhinged level. I will dissect entire personalities and ships and fictional political structures and worldbuilding with you. At the last battle, I would raise Anduril and say "For my ao3 readers" while a single tears rolls down my cheek, and dive into the fray. One thing about me is that I'm a big candle girlie and especially scented candles

AND LOOK WHAT I GOT TEEHEE

Okay I already had Azriel's (bought it almost a year ago) and it smells sooo good. I usually burn the candles ofc, but I didn't light this one because it feels more like a bookish gadget than a candle if that makes sense. I just leave it open and it still smells good and I can feed my delulus

The other two came in yesterdayyy (and I won't burn them either probably). My friends got me a gift card from this shop for my birthday, which was a few months ago but I really wanted the candle for The House in the Cerulean Sea which was out of stock so I had to wait to order them and now they're here and I'm so happyyy

I also a vanilla one! It's just smell clean and fresh and it's sooo nice. But now I'm curious what the one you made smells like? I wanted to try and make one but I never did bc I knew I'd mess it up
