can the world ever be fixed?

@itslettinggo

IS AMERICA BURIED, DID IT EVER EXIST? 20. video games sideblog.

okay ! intro post because i haven't made one of those:

  • i’m 20! minors dni please !!
  • i’m white, bisexual and a cis woman
  • my dni is just: racists, homophobes, transphobes, etc. i use the block button quite liberally so i don’t really need a dni.
  • i mostly talk about fallout ! new vegas and 3 are my favs
  • i have questionable taste in attractive fallout characters

my pfp right now is my lone wanderer, grace, made using this picrew!

just saw someone post “it’s common knowledge ur not supposed to spam reblog from someone ur not mutuals with” …..?????????? am i confused??? IS that common knowledge???? i try not to spam if i can help it but i actually personally love seeing spam notifs lmao??? unless i dont know what spam reblog means

Reblog if you like it when people “spam reblog” from you or whenever that means at any time

It’s common knowledge that you ARE supposed to do that, actually, and anyone who says the opposite is a confusing this with Instagram

I hate how people coming on Tumblr from Twitter, Instagram, etc. are trying to redefine how Tumblr is supposed to be used, based on those other social media platforms they’re coming from. Apparently, you can get shadowbanned on Instagram if you go on a liking spree. (I wouldn’t know because I’m not on Insta myself, but this is what I’ve heard from people who are on it.) But that’s definitely not the case on Tumblr.

From the beginning, Tumblr has been all about sharing your interests with others via reblogging. In fact, reblogging is vital for Tumblr to work. And that’s why it’s alarming how content creators have been saying for a few years now how the reblog/like ratio is skewed with people only liking posts and not reblogging, which means that their hard work will disappear into the ether. But that’s another discussion.

I, for one, can say that it absolutely makes my day as a small and non-popular blog when someone likes and reblogs a lot of my posts.

You know what? Destroy the "people in rural areas are all ignorant conservatives" stereotype and start mocking the "trad"/anti-feminist/neonazi people that are obsessed with rural areas despite having never been to one

I'm absolutely laughing my ass off at all these "Traditional Femininity" blogs that post nothing but aesthetic photos of supposed "Rural Life"

Lady this is a skinny influencer in a frilly white dress that's never had dirt on it, with her hair in professionally-done beachy waves, doing a photoshoot in a field using a basket of strawberries bought at walmart as a prop.

If you saw an actual woman farmer you would think you were seeing the Masculinization Of Women By The Degenerate Left

Can confirm, went to school with farm folk. The wrestling team was afraid of the 4H and Future Farmers of America girls.

I live in a no-stoplight-no-starbucks-no-fast-food town in the backwoods of Virginia, and I have seen a toothless redneck at the gas station go off on someone for being a dick about a trans woman, telling him that if he didn't want to show some basic manners, he should move up north.

good time to remember that the Southern U.S. population is significantly more progressive and ethnically diverse than you've been taught to believe.

southern states are gerrymandered to hell--specifically to prevent the majority from overthrowing the conservative political chokehold. this is by design and a direct inheritance of the civil war (to keep former slaves and their descendants as politically disenfranchised as possible). Southern politics do not reflect southern reality. And neither do media portrayals. there is a reason the media wants you to think of the south as white, conservative, poor, and uneducated: to keep southern progressives isolated. to alienate northern liberals from disenfranchised southerners (especially southerners of color).

it's just another divide-and-conquer strategy. because that's what conservatives are good at--controlling the narrative in order to rewrite history and sow discord between groups that should be helping each other. Because unity is powerful, and it makes us dangerous.

tl;dr the south has always been more liberal than you think, it's the decades of voter suppression & systematic disenfranchisement controlling the narrative. (and yes this extends to gender and queer issues too)

met the sweetest 13 year old boy at my job who talked my ear off about fallout and he said "I don't understand why Preston gets as much hate as he does. He sends me to get good loot and I always need that. So I appreciate it."

i actually love that the vault tec rep is only known as vault tec rep and don’t think he should’ve had a name. he is vault-tec, guys. his entire personality and soul were sucked up into the company. it struck me as so profound and thematic the first time i played.

idgaf if bethesda ever tells us concretely which country launched the first nuke, the only answer i will accept is the original one, the one that said "we wont tell you, because it doesnt matter. there is no moral highground in the story of the great war, and the end result for those alive today is all the same either way. those most responsible faced the fewest consequences, and no justice was served. there is no justifiable way to nuke anyone, no matter who struck first. everyone lost and thats the very nature of war and always has been. war is evil, and in that way, war never changes"

not broadcasting who was "really to blame" is purposeful, and any other answer would undercut fallout's core identity to me

fallout new vegas’ dlcs are just tests to see just how much trauma you can pack into one mailman

I'm so so sick of open world games

Every time a series makes the switch to being open world it's like. Okay that's just what you're gonna have to be from now on huh. Like the Open World is held on such a high pedestal that once you've made the switch you're never going to be allowed to make anything else. Everything just has to homogenize into this one specific gameplay loop of walking the fuck around an open space.

Evil version of myself with bad taste playing an older game with a smaller but more detailed and refined map that acts as its own elaborate puzzle and story telling device and is satisfying to progress through: "I sure do wish I had the player freedom to walk through a field aimlessly so I could find one of six types of collectibles right about now"
