relationship status: its complicated
did we not watch the same season 10
Donut remembers how Caboose was back in Blood Gulch, even if everyone else forgot.
He remembers when he's snark back to Church's and Tucker's digs, always surprising everyone with his clever comebacks. He remembers when nicknames were said with affection, when Private Biscuit was a light-hearted tease instead of a sign of forgetfulness. He remembers when it felt like the only person in the world who could understand him, who he felt like he could actually talk to without getting made fun of or bullied, was Caboose.
He remembers when Omega came and fucked up Caboose's head, remembers watching Caboose slowly loose himself as Omega tore through his head in a rage, unsatisfied with the mind he decided to inhabit. He remembers the first time Caboose looked at him and asked what his name was again, remembers feeling choked up at the idea of all the days they spent together, all the jokes they made, was wiped away.
He had smiled and given his name again, voice forced to stay steady as he reintroduces himself to his best friend.
Donut remembers never getting that relationship back, remembers Caboose slowly slipping further into his memory problems, injury after injury jostling his brain until there's barely anything left of Donut in Caboose's head. He remembers the sting of realizing that he was never getting Caboose back, that as close as he could get to him, it would never be the same as Blood Gulch. He remembers feeling guilty for missing a version of Caboose that will never come back.
He remembers missing him anyway, hiding the ache in his heart with a big smile whenever he stands next to the man he once knew like the back of his hand, that he could read with a single look, who knew him back just as confidentially.
He remembers it all, even when Caboose doesn't.
RED VS BLUE EXISTED BEFORE YOUTUBE AND STREAMING SERVICES AND I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTANDING OR REMEMBERING HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS
The Rooster Teeth Website is going to go down in a few hours and we need to remember what they DID.
Red vs Blue proved, before anyone else, that a company could thrive entirely off an online only series. Think about how long it took for the rest of the internet and the world to catch up to what Rooster Teeth did? How long it took before youtubers were able to make a living off of their work, how long it took before youtube could solve that issue? How long it took before streaming services became what they became?
It's a part of the company's history that's only ever rarely brought up and I really wish would be discussed more because Red vs Blue, and its creators had a genuine impact on our culture and as much as Frieren has taught me to understand that everyone will be forgotten eventually, that doesn't meant I won't try to make sure that for now... we fucking remember what Red vs Blue meant for creators.
Ik this post is older but i was scrolling the rvb tag and saw it and just wanted to say-
I was born in 2004 and was literally raised on the bloodgulch chronicles, and i mean RAISED.
We had it on DVD, i had a hoodie, i learned how to play video games through halo CE and halo 2, and my all time favorites have always been caboose and tex. I really wish we still had those DVDs bc i hold such fond memories of watching the show as a kid 🥹. Rvb helped shape me as a person and i met my current friend group through it too, i couldn't be more grateful towards RT and the amazing work they put into making RVB possible.
Is this a Gaster reference?
explain
Offering 'one egg' is a thing a man behind a tree does, who is often theorized to be Gaster, who is originally from the game Undertale, but Deltarune has put more focus on him
why do undertale-deltarune fans assume every mysterious character is the same guy. just because there's one mysterious guy whose name you know you just assume everyone you don't know is that guy? get real
idk gaster's Probably involved with deltarune and it's a weird guy who is only referred to as "a man" (as is Gaster), not too big a stretch. I personally think he's not the same guy as the goner maker sequence guy tho. maybe different fragments of gaster
evidence that the egg guy is gaster (comprehensive??):
- mysterious
- male
egg guy also only appears in between two rooms sometimes and mystery man in undertale appears in a hallway in between two rooms sometimes so they got the whole room that does not normally appear thing going on but also egg guy gives you two eggs actually in the two chapters so this is not an egg guy reference
3. similar method of finding the easter egg as a third mysterious character who may or may not also be gaster
We know that the Mystery Man is probably Gaster because the room in which it appears in only shows up if you have a Fun Value of 66 (The Fun Value being a random variable defined at the start of a playthrough that can make several secrets show up), with the number 6 being heavily associated with Gaster in the code, and also because the sound that the Mystery Man and the Gaster Followers (Other Fun Event characters) make when they disappear sounds a lot like Gaster's Theme (Which shows up in another Fun Event) when slowed down
3a. the third guy shares a sound effect cue with various other characters who are not gaster
3b. the number six
tbf one of those characters is holding a fragment of gaster
okay I don't even know how to dismissively summarize the amount of information this adds to the theory that egg guy is gaster and therefore the word "egg" in this post makes it a "gaster reference". this is literally nothing there's no meat there
