Idk I just feel like all the min/maxing meta is focused on making your individual sheet as strong as possible when dnd is in fact a team game & shit like this is actually way stronger and more fun for everyone involved

bonus points if the bear has sentinel, this stuff gets horrendous really really fast

Exactly. I think character optimization is cool as hell but a lot of it focuses on making your character strong in a vacuum when you could be optimizing the power of friendship with your buddies. If you have an entire group of spreadsheet goblins who enjoy the character creation minigame and engaging with the mechanics you're bound to have a great time as the GM can also run things with no holds barred while pretending to be an evil mastermind while secretly cheering the players on and giggling with glee as the group reveals the counter they have come up with.
