Disabled trans woman needs help affording wheelchair

Remaking my donation post as the information is outdated.

I need help affording an electric wheelchair, as I am unable to leave the house and walk for long without one. I've been trapped in the house for months, only leaving for absolute essentials and doctor's appointments. I'm currently halfway towards affording the model I've selected. Absolutely anything helps. it's shameful how long i had to look to find an article covering this story that gives more information besides saying "37 undocumented workers were arrested wednesday." cascadia news and the AP were the only sources i found that include any journalism whatsoever beyond the police report.

I'm only really on Instagram and Threads to a much lesser degree. I'm also seeing Bellingham Herald, Cascadia Daily (aka Cascadia News?) on IG posting about the 37 taken.

Also in the same area, Immigration activist and farmworkers union leader Alfredo (Lelo) Juarez Zeferino was taken by ICE in Sedro-Wooley and is being held in Tacoma detention center the last I have heard. Here's a Bellingham Herald piece about it (lots in the area are covering it as well).

Reminder that notes/online attention are not a reliable indicator of how well a campaign is going.

You might see fundraising posts with thousands of notes on your dash daily and think to yourself "this person must be doing fine!"

I wish that were true. I saw a post earlier referring to people with fundraisers as "those fortunate enough to have internet clout" but unfortunately internet clout is not a currency that can buy food and other necessities. It's only a testament to how much effort that person spends desperately networking in order to make ends meet, and often not succeeding at that. These people do not have an advantage.

I spotlight for @dr-anas96 and his posts consistently get a lot of notes. He's vetted here.

And where does that get him?

He's barely at 19% of his goal, as of today, December 13th, which marks 6 months since he started fundraising.
