This is what posting your artwork after a mutual posts a big life update feels like

the thing about being nonbinary is that you really do start to forget that other people have such strict walls around what is and isn’t allowed for genders. i thought we all agreed that we made that up. could you climb out of the cave real quick and feel the sunshine for a minute.

omg look at how they look at each other 😍😍 there's NO romantic explanation for this literally the amount of devotion they have could only be platonic. people who r just dating don't act like that, those two are sooo best friends

the destruction of the green hades stadium is literally symbolic of gingka and hyoma leaving their childhood behind (especially gingka choosing to move on from his hometown of koma village in search of new rivals and greater strength) but it's fine i can move on and be normal about my day

listen it's like symbolic of gingka's growth as a blader and letting go of the past weighing him down hear me out im so serious

  • gingka had never won in the green hades stadium prior to the episode. he leaves koma village with hyoma undefeated in that ring
  • gingka returns to koma village defeated with his spirit shattered after losing to ryuga and revisiting the memory of his father's passing when describing it to kenta
  • after recovering and regaining his spirit, he and hyoma spend the day reminiscing together and end it with a battle in the stadium from their childhoods -- one final tribute to the past
  • battle takes place with his new friends and rivals there to witness it (they also, therefore, witness his growth). this joins the familiarity of the past with the newness of the present, and is the first step in reconciling the two so he can move on
  • gingka wins the battle though a combination of smarts and sheer willpower. growing up with ryo, he internalized the idea of your spirit being the only thing that determines the outcome of the match. however, with new friends (especially madoka) more focused on the actual mechanics of a battle, he wins this with a fusion of his past self and the blader he has grown into
  • he wins, and the stadium is destroyed. gingka subsequently leaves koma village. he is able to leave the past behind without looking back.

the thing is, hyoma represents stagnation

  • hyoma never leaves koma village (prior to the survival battle. gingka comments on this as they're gliding down in their parachutes.)
  • (not directy related but koma village being where pegasus and beyblade originate from (sort of kind of the lore is ??? i have to revisit that metal masters dialogue) makes for additional interesting symbolism. hyoma is trapped in the past because he literally lives in/is the guardian of a place that is a memorial to the origins of beyblade)
  • as his childhood friend, much of hyoma's dialogue revolves around being gingka's first for everything: his first friend, his first rival.
  • in their battle, hyoma presumably uses the same techniques to fight gingka that he always has. he says that he knows all of gingka's favorite offensive and defensive patterns while countering most of gingka's moves
  • but that's the thing: he knows gingka's past, but because he didn't follow gingka out of koma village, he has no knowledge of who gingka became after ryo's death. his image of gingka is someone that no longer exists
  • this is what leads to his defeat. gingka grew, and he didn't.

it's not a depressing story though: if anything, i believe gingka's growth inspires him, and thats why 2 episodes later he *does* leave koma village to join the survival battle, and eventually grows and amasses enough points to stand by gingka in battle bladers at the end of the season

furthermore, at the end of the battle, hyoma accepts that gingka has new rivals, and he can't be the only one forever. if he wants to continue to be in gingka's future, he has to grow with him

and me personally i just think that's very neat.
