This has been in the making since at least last october.
If you guys followed me on a different sideblog (like my space blog, @x-15), it's probably been transferred over to the new account. This is the one I'm leaving behind. I won't be deleting it because I don't want to erase what's effectively a log of my personality, interests, etc. through the end of high school, college, and university.
As for @tron20emails, I deliberately left it on this account to cut ties with the Tron fandom, but it's not getting deleted or anything. Whenever I want to return to the fandom, I'll probably transfer ownership of it to the new account to maintain it. I could be convinced to share ownership with someone who's been in the 2.0 fandom for a while, if anybody has an interest in maintaining it. But I won't be handing it to just anyone, only people I know have an interest in maintaining an asset for that community. Message me on my new blog if you're interested.
I have a lot to say about this decision, and yet, nothing at all. I just need a fresh start. It feels weird to cut off an old part of myself like this, but it's just how it is. I need to get out of here, and changing my url and icon isn't gonna cut it this time. I need out.

I’m so sorry to hear about the bad experiences you’ve had with people from tronblr. I had no idea there was clique stuff! (probably cause I’m only on this one site). I hope you have an enjoyable time with whatever you move on to next! And that if you ever come back it’s to a safer and more enjoyable environment.

I've been unreasonably forgiving about Legacy's narrative shortcomings, but even I will admit it's a fundamental misunderstanding of the ideas and themes of the original 82' film. Decent tech demo. Bad sequel.
Look, I don't care if people like legacy or not anymore. It's got a lot of things that even I like about it. It's got a really cool mesh between practical costume/set design and CGI that means it largely aged really well, even though the movies have been full of impressive CGI ever since it came out. The OST is lit, I'm excited to have it on vinyl. But yeah, no, as a narrative, it's pretty bad.
E.J Sue’s “Mechaforce” is one of the few “How to Draw” books I would point newbies looking to get into drawing robots to. It emphasizes knowing the basics (Very difficult to draw a robot properly if you can’t use perspective) and fundamental shapes and even arm techniques, and gives a neat insight into how mechanical forms work in art.
These are just a few of the examples from the anatomy section of the book. It’s currently on sale on Amazon and worth checking out, though I will note it is not a “be all end all” resource, thankfully you can fill in your knowledge gaps elsewhere.

If some of you don’t understand why I’m so passionate about helping people understand the DIY and anti-consumerist themes of alternative fashion it’s because I just read an article about punk fashion that had a section dedicated to “shopping some of our punk favorites” that included a $53 pair of fishnet tights
I get my fishnets from the dollar store, I make jewelry out of safety pins and soda tablets cans, I buy “normal” looking clothing at thrift stores and cut it and sew it and wear it so it fits with my style. That’s what it’s about. When punks, goths, emos, scene kids, etc tell you that dressing this way should be cheap it’s because it IS. Don’t let big corporations tell you otherwise

That post was a joke, but... Honestly? Probably at least for a while. I need a breather from it. I think I've hit a point where I just don't take as much enjoyment from it anymore. I resonated with TRON 2.0 partly because it was a retro shooter, and I still fw it as that? You can pry the weapon sounds in that game out of my cold dead hands, lol. But I think I need a break from everything else.
I've honestly been growing uncomfortable with TRONblr for a while now. It's got a cliquey streak that people don't really address, because a lot of the drama is mostly just people whispering behind each others' backs in other apps. The fact that it's a small fandom where people know each other to be more judgemental than they let on, can make it really difficult to post about more niche topics. I don't just mean being a 2.0 blogger here; weird kinks, more exploratory meta, less popular character opinions, you name it. There's... reasons almost none of my plural Tron friends post about it on Tumblr.
And it's not something you can combat by just... All being friends and getting over it (tm). Someone who cyberstalked and doxxed me is in this fandom on Tumblr. I've got another friend who had the same thing happen to them from someone else in Tronblr. There's no amount of "sometimes you need to communicate like adults and stop holding things against people and just all hold hands and be nice to each other!" that will EVER get me to reach out to that individual again. Because of the tiny nature of the fandom, a lot of people I care about are mutuals with him. I just have to let go.
I still consider myself to be good friends with the people I know from Tronblr. But I'm mainly in contact with a lot of them through other places (like Mastodon and Discord), so I've unfollowed most of them on here. The ones I still follow, I really only follow for other things, unless they're largely a 2.0 blog.
Anyhow. You might see me around when there's more 2.0 content, but honestly? Aside from the next KA mod update, that's not happening, and we all know that.
i feel like fandom would really benefit from adopting the idea of readings, as in interpretations. anyone can interpret canon as saying anything on even the most tenuous of justifications. if you interpret a detail or moment in a particular way, great! but if someone interprets that thing in another way, even in a way which directly contradicts your interpretation, that’s also okay. multiple readings can exist at once without invalidating any of them
a lot of fandom drama seems to arise from people acting as if their interpretations are True or Factual in some way, when really all anyone can do is speak to their own interpretations & experiences. which is natural! and good! many voices with many interpretations and approaches is healthy and good. the trouble is depicting a reading, which is a very personal thing, as universally true, and then getting frustrated that others don’t interpret events the same way. & i get it, that can be annoying, especially if you think those other interpretations are misunderstanding the canon. but so much of the time it’s just a different reading, taking into account details you might not have noticed or maybe just viewing them in a different light, informed by different life experiences & values & everything else that goes into a personal interpretation of a creative work
by trying to depict One Single Reading of a text as Correct, fandom loses all the nuance of interpretation & also just turns everyone into a bunch of rabid raccoons fighting over different ways to look through the same kaleidoscope
