I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard
Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.
Microsoft Office, like many companies in recent months, has slyly turned on an βopt-outβ feature that scrapes your Word and Excel documents to train its internal AI systems. This setting is turned on by default, and you have to manually uncheck a box in order to opt out.
If you are a writer who uses MS Word to write any proprietary content (blog posts, novels, or any work you intend to protect with copyright and/or sell), youβre going to want to turn this feature off immediately. How to Turn off Wordβs AI Access To Your Content
I wonβt beat around the bush. Microsoft Office doesnβt make it easy to opt out of this new AI privacy agreement, as the feature is hidden through a series of popup menus in your settings:On a Windows computer, follow these steps to turn off βConnected Experiencesβ:
File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings > Optional Connected Experiences > Uncheck box: βTurn on optional connected experiencesβ
And on a Mac, go to Preferences -> Privacy -> uncheck box: βturn on optional connected experiencesβ!
In the newer editions of Office/Word (2024 onwards), the labels are a little different.
File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings > Under the header "Connected Experiences", go to All Connected Experiences > Uncheck box: βTurn on all connected experiencesβ
Note, this will also uncheck the boxes for Experiences that analyze your content and Experiences that download online content, but really, you do NOT want AI doing those things anyway.
As an additional and, I hope, helpful PSA for your writing projects, primarily fiction or creative non-fiction, here are some non-AI'd (fuck you, Grammarly) reference materials, available as physical books, eBooks, and audiobooks:
There are a LOT of other reliable references out there, whether you're here for research or just the fun of writing up a little prose. Remember, you gotta KNOW the rules before you go and break em. AI has some good uses, but not in this arena!
I'm experimenting with the prices on some of my stuff again, especially my sprites

Mahmoud Al-Sharif (@mahmoud-sharif) needs your help! He and his family live in Gaza and are from the Gaza Strip. He has four kids, including a soon to be three month old. In the previous wars/conflicts, he lost his eye, fingers and/or hand, and damaged his other eye. He lost so much, including his home, job, and a project he was been working on for 12 years. They have been displaced multiple times as they seek and search for a place safe from bombing and destruction.
If you are able to, please donate $5 or more to Mahmoud's GoFundMe below to assist them in evacuating to Egypt. It has been vetted here. As of 6 October 2024, the fundraiser has raised 12,251 out of the $60,000 goal and 664 donations. That is roughly a fifth of the goal. If you are not able to donate, follow his accounts (the one above and @mahmoud-sharif2), interact with his posts (especially the pinned ones), and share his GoFundMe link. Please do not hesitate to help!
this is a list of the palestinian survivors and their families who've reached out to me lately β please donate if it's within your means to do so, and REBLOG TO BOOST. thank you!
tumblr just deleted a huge swathe of palestinians who were on here trying to fundraise. if you've been helping any of these fundraisers please take this time to 1) check in with palestinians you're in contact with 2) help them submit support requests if needed 3) keep these campaigns circulating while the beneficiaries are being silenced. these campaigns are life or death, this isn't just social networking. do not let these fundraisers languish.
