Jomo's art dump

@jomo-is-here / jomo-is-here.tumblr.com

Hi I’m Jomo. I make art of whatever fandom I’m currently in plus hopefully some original works in the future. I’m bad at talking but feel free to send me an ask or dm if you want to :) banner by @athrasill

Your art is amazing, especially the backgrounds. You should do a tutorial if you ever feel like it.

maybe sometime in the future. Right now i don't feel like I consciously know enough about what I'm doing to really be able to give people a good tutorial, and i really don't wanna give people a bunch of useless information that won't help them lol. I can probably give some tips or insight into how I do things but I need to learn more before I can really start teaching others

(also sry about taking 2 months to answer this 😭)

hi so sorry to ask but is it ok if I use your art as a pfp (on discord and I'll credit you ofc)

sorry and thank you and your art is so cool and I'm very obsessed !!

hi! yes it is ok if you wanna use my art as a profile pic on discord. For the most part I am ok with you using my fan art as a profile pic or banner image as long as I am properly credited. Sorry about the late response it turns out I am terrible about answering asks lol.

I think it would be nice to have the option to hide numbers on ao3. Make it where the 'kudos' and 'hits' number is author-viewable only, have an alternate option for when a list is sorted by such so people can read things based off their tags and preferences rather than see big number go brrrr

I speak as someone with popular fics, it doesn't have to be a requirement but like, as an option? This could go for other websites too, tumblr notes and the like.

Coming back to this, I am so serious btw.

Optionally removing kudos and hits (and other stats if needed) from public view and sorting is a good start to:

(1) encourage readers to read based off of preference rather than what's popular

(2) stop comparisons in what's supposed to be a creative hobby + stop holding a creative hobby to published book standards

(3)  (although more complicated than what this single action could hope to solve) help discourage 'fandom heiarchy' and dehumanization/harrassment of writers and artists. I think it would also help new writers/posters stop from being discouraged from sharing their work as well.

AO3 is meant to be an archive, not social media. (My take on online numbers game extends to all social medias too but for this post specifically I say AO3) There is a feedback page for 'feature requests for future development' but there's no guarantee they'll consider it

*biting and tearing clawing my hair out* Community over competition. Creators are your old neighbors, your classmates your grocery clerk and human beings with lives just as complicated as you. Keep fandom free and kingless. Drink water
