When you try get rid of the add really fast but accidentally click on the link that sends you to seventy different pages before you can go back.

I fell asleep in my friends' arms. It was eleven at night, we were tired, curled up in a small pile on my tiny bed. I had my head buried in my roommate's side, and one of my closest friend's hand on my shoulder, steadying me. It was quiet and nothingness and peace and their heartbeats in my ears, my hands in their hair.

We pack four people to that little bed, you know. Laps used as footrests, collarbones as pillows, little lights like moonlight in rustic yellow bathed on their faces. The TV plays an anime. The words are repeated by my dear friend on my shoulder, curled close. My legs are asleep; my roommate may be, too.

The cat curls on top of our criss cross mess of legs and arms and heads on chests to absorb the warmth of us all. She purrs in contented peace. When my roommate and I are left alone in the quiet, she cries, and watches the door for our friends' return.

I will never kiss them but the top of their heads. I will never touch but the warmth of their arms. I will never take more than what's freely given, and in return I put my glasses on the bedside table fashioned from a guitar amp, and when I lean into their sides, I pick up my vulnerability and place it in their capable, tender hands.

I sing for them. I cry for them. I work and I run and I withstand the worst of the world for them, because some days I get to cradle their forehead on my shoulder and some days I get to see their shining eyes.

Maybe to you. But look beyond explanation. I love them. With my heart in my unsteady hands, with my nose pressed to the side of their head, with the buzzing in my feet and the warmth all around Iike the sunset pushing into the window.

I wish more fanartists would put their work on AO3. Just followed an artist who organizes their work by making a series for Fandom X, and within that, they have multi-chapter works for different ships & gen. Every new chapter is just their latest image for that subject.

It's been so delightful not to have to wade through social media algorithms and endless ads.

If you've never posted fanart on AO3 before, you need to know that AO3 doesn't host images. That means you need to upload them somewhere else online and then embed them in your post. There's an FAQ that tells you how.

You can also upload your meta works to AO3! Got a 5K essay on cultural appropriation in Dragon Age? Or a multi-part work on queer subtext in the X-Men broken down by writer and era? Post it - we love to see it!

Fanfic may be the biggest part of the archive, but that’s not all it’s there for!

Yes yes yes yes!! And may I encourage people to use this tagging system:

"metafiction" - for self-aware fiction "meta analysis" - fannish nonfiction (also consider the "Essay" tag!)

Makes it easier to differentiate under the "meta" tag umbrella!

You can also post your fanvids there as well! Just make sure to host it somewhere else first (YouTube, video, etc)

My only rebuttal to this idea is many artists make money off their work and if your AO3 is connected back to any accounts on which you advertise or make money from what is hosted you jeopardize the legal standing on which AO3 operates so if u make money off your art maybe Dont. or get very, very familiar with their terms of service and such.

All fannish creatives are subject to the same rules regardless of chosen medium.

after sitting on this game in my steam wishlist for ages, I finally gave it a try when another one of my friends started it, and it ended up becoming one of my favorite rpgs (and games in general) of all time. the emotional rollercoaster this game put me through is unparalleled. so obviously i needed to turn all the main characters into ponies and funny animals.
