Heyyyyyyyyyyy Newt/Hermann nation!!!! Very excited to share that the super spooky horror + Halloween-themed Newt/Hermann fanzine Weird K-Science @k-sci-janitor and I organized back in the fall is OFFICIALLY printed and here!!! Here are some little sneak peeks of the book and the spooooky physical merch designed by some of our amazing contributors.....

You can find the zine (both physical and PDF), the physical merch, and some additional digital merch at our shop, linked at the top of this post and also right here. Check it out for over 100 pages of spooky, fun, romantic, and dare I even say weird Newt/Hermann art and fic from our amazingly talented contributors!!!

This also means that regular orders are open now (while stock lasts), and pre-orders will be shipped out over the course of this week. ***If you pre-ordered a while back and need to update your address, feel free to reach out to either me or k-sci-janitor ASAP!

hermann "i am existentially disturbed by the disruptive alien life coming out of the ocean in an act of disrespect to centuries of human rationality and science, so i will fine-tune myself into a perfect killing machine through mathematical abstraction, and dedicate every waking hour to ensure the success of giant interpersonal-love-powered mechs that represent all the best accomplishments of humanity, even if collaborating in a project responsible for so many deaths makes me a monster, even if I will never be allowed to pilot them because my actual organic body is disabled and there's no room for it the paradigm of what humanity has decided makes a person" gottlieb

newton "i empathize with the alien species colonizing our planet through the bottom of our very polluted oceans, even and especially when they hurt or kill the people i love because it's not their fault the reality they were born into was not fit to be a home and it's not like they had role models to socialize them into being polite and likable and safe to be around and maybe if we could talk to them they would understand that we're trying to make a life worth living in this planet too, even as we constantly fuck it up and invade and destroy the homes of other species, we could reach an understanding because humanity and the kaiju are both equally monstruous to the most vulnerable" geiszler

[avril lavigne voice] can i make it any more obvious

Co-organized by me and @k-sci-janitor and featuring some absolutely AMAZING fic and art, you can get it in both digital AND PRINT, as well as a bunch of awesome spoooooky merch! (Physical zines and merch are pre-orders now, expected to ship next month!)

Don't forget, our spooky Newt/Hermann zine is up for sale/pre-order right now!

HEYYYYY EVERYONE guess who just got the printed zines in today at long last!!!! 👀👀👀👀👀

The thing about Pacific Rim is that it's an allegorical fairytale.

The Jaegers are an allegory for the things we can't do alone without burning ourselves out. Yeah, it's possible to pilot a Jaeger solo for awhile. But nobody can last the whole fight. If you try, you will collapse under the strain sooner or later. You will die.

The drift is about the necessity of making yourself vulnerable to someone, letting another person in, so you can lift this otherwise impossible burden together. Because if we isolate ourselves, if we don't face the mortifying ordeal of being known, we will change nothing, and we will die alone.
