Kiawren 2 truths and a lie :D It's kinda simple though cuz it's such a slice of life ship

-> wren is the big spoon between them

-> they don't buy surprise gifts for each other

-> kiawe goes out of his way to search for wren doing fieldwork around the island between his duties in the day

That's so valid and honestly the good ol slice of life feels the sweetest ^w^

I thiiiink my gut will say the second one is a lie 🤔It's more a vibe than anything but I feel like yall would be the type to surprise gift each other at times. Not often but randomly!

Also like the third one PLEASE be true because that's genuinely so cute ; w ;

HII LIEENNN sorry for only just getting to this I was occupied with stuff, hope you're doing wellll

Sadly the third is the lie! Kiawe stays at the volcano park throughout the day (apart from going down for lunch sometimes), the point is that they do their work in the daytime, and only meet in the evenings cuz that's more special. It's nice to picture their routines separate from each other. Although sometimes wren might be doing work at the volcano park and might try to find kiawe. But kiawe stays at the park and I meet him there like going to my princess in the tower lol

Second one is truth 😭 they are not materialistic people and are also broke students. Kiawe is saving up for his studies abroad so wren insists on him not ever getting anything for him. As for wren, well he's like me and a terrible gift giver.

Buuut they do give each other other special things. For wren it's poems when he gets the inspiration, and kiawe sometimes prepares meals for wren to share together with him. They also go a lot of scenic places together which feels better than any gift. Kiawe has also gifted wren a pokemon and they often give each other feathers they find. If they do end up spending money on something, it wouldn't be a surprise gift, but something they decided to get together. The matching zigzagoon plush keychains are one of them.

I love how you had no doubt I'd be the big spoon between us‼️

A line from the chorus is "I'd give anything just to surround your dreams" and I read dreams as ambitions, and yeah exactly it's enough if I'm there to see you achieve your dreams. Tell me about them and they will never be too small or big, we'll reach them together. I love you so much

You know how cool it is that one person can change your entire perception of your own home. Kiawe has lived on Akala island his whole life. He thinks he knows it well. He does, but with wren everything is in a new light. It's just so cute how he has someone to experience his home all over again. Falling in love in the places he loves. Aaahhhhhhhhhhh

Kiawe isn't the type to selfship with a character cuz he's not online in fandoms and that kind of stuff buuut something close to that would be.

His sister watching an animated show teaching about pokemon conservation, kinda like wild kratts, and then my s/i character is the one guiding the show and giving words of encouragement and Kiawe watches some of it and thinks aw this is a nice show. Hope my sister likes it as much as I do -> this wren character interacts with the audience so realistically and assuringly, couldn't hurt to watch more episodes in my free time -> kind of have a crush on him -> starts more seriously imagining wren encouraging him irl like he does in the show, imagines him pointing out pokemon to Kiawe. When kiawe goes out he's like "Wren would have a lot of fun explaining oricorio biology and conservation to kids" and starts imagining wren talking to him personally, not to younger audiences, about the oricorio -> weeks later only thought to do a deep dive about the show and learnt that the wren character is based on a real person in another region who partnered up with a show agency to create more conservation outreach -> WWWWHAAT.

Some of the places they go to. You can also look at the rotom map to get a sense of the area.

This is the lighthouse at konikoni city (the lighthouse is the white thing at the top right). The view of the sea is also very colourful and beautiful during sunset. The times they go to konikoni are during hangouts they can call 'dates' more than usual sunset meetups. Since it's further from the volcano park/royal avenue area. And they spend more time there getting street food or eating at Mallow's restaurant, looking around the market stalls before looking at the view here together.

Paniola ranch where they'd meet at night sometimes to just talk. Either standing leaning against the fences or sitting down leaning against the hay. The pokemon there are resting and it's very peaceful to watch them and also hear the sound of the mini waterfall from the pond on the left. Brooklet hill is also behind the ranch so you can hear water running. It's just a nice atmosphere at night, where apart from their talking there's these sounds around them too.

the Thrifty Megamart entrance where Kiawe worked at until he got laid off and they could spend more time together at night haha but while he was still working there they'd eat around the royal avenue area (if he doesn't have dinner at home) which is the second pic, this is just a malasada shop but in my head there's more restaurants since it's near a tourist spot.

Anddd the motel room by the sea, and how the room looks like. Though for wren's room there's a proper study table and computer, perhaps replacing the TV. The earlier times when kiawe sleeps over he'd sleep on a mattress next to the bed, but eventually they'd both sleep on the bed together even though it's a single. Wren leaves the curtains up because he "needs the sunlight to wake up in the morning" so they get moonlight while they're talking before falling asleep, and when one falls asleep before the other they can also watch them under that soft light lol. When you look out that window, it's also just all ocean, and the stars and moon.

When kiawren parts and don't know when they'll meet again, it hits harder for Kiawe whose home is on Akala and seeing all the places they'd hang out at. At least Wren can go home and not dwell on the places that remind him of kiawe, but it's not the same the other way around. Even after he steps down as trial captain, the volcano park reminds him equally as much of wren as his trial captain duties. The parts of the ranch they would sit against the hay stacks talking, literally right in his backyard. The leftmost room of the motel on route 8. That goddamn room bruh. He has no reason to rent it or visit it again so it's like a whole world of memories locked away in a place so close to him yet he can't visit. The nights he stayed over and they talked till late, the moonlight seeping in the window as he lays on the mattress looking at the frame of the bed wren sleeps on beside him, catching a glimpse of his side as they try to fall asleep. The room now belonging to just another stranger. Also the restaurants at royal avenue and konikoni, the lighthouse, hano beach, brooklet hill. Everywhere on the damn island bruh

This is even worse if you think of it through the angsty au where they never got together and grew older into their 20s not meeting again
