Tangential to my last post, but related, I do think Discord didn't actually want kids when he had Minx. Fluttershy wanted a kid, and he wants Fluttershy to have everything she wants. Having the kid was an impulse decision he made to make Fluttershy happy.

This was not a good idea, and he did have a panic moment where he realized he'd just saddled himself with responsibility he didn't want.

But now that she's here, he does love her. She's so much like her mother, how could he not? But he also was smart enough this time around to decide not to have another either.

I haven't posted about my fanchild Minx in forever but an idea I keep having is like,

So I've seen people debate whether Discord would be good with a baby. Like in the comics, he's good with kids, but babysitting and raising one though all the stages children go through is a different story.

But I feel like it's been missed that a blood related child might be a little sturdier than your average foal.

Cuz I keep imagining that Minx is not easily hurt. Like if he dropped her she would just float in the air instead of falling. But if she did fall, she'd bounce. She might want him to drop her again bc its fun. He can play more roughly with her, bc she's not a pony.

She doesn't act like a normal baby either. Her magic means if she wants something, it'll come to her without her parents intervention.

That may worry Fluttershy, also, she would rather Minx cry for food than start eating her pillows, but as far as Discord is concerned, he doesn't need to be good with a normal baby bc she's not a normal baby.

it's been so long since I'd spent time with any of my extended family I forgot how backwards they are. my aunt literally called me an old maid and wants to set me up with a man lest I die alone. this is 2025.

been trying out this extension called Pause that's meant to prevent impulse buying, it makes you wait at least 30 seconds (though you can adjust the time frame) before you can go on any shopping site, so you're not just mindlessly clicking. just makes you consider if you actually are going there for a reason, or if you're just clicking bc you're bored.

but I've found that because it lets you add sites to it, it's also good for just generally keeping yourself off any site you tend to click onto mindlessly. Sometimes I get sucked into instagran reels and will waste an hour on nothing so I've been using it to keep me off of there.

Only had it a couple days so I wanna use it more before I completely recommend it, but so far so good.

so my aunt died a few weeks ago, and I ended up taking home a lot of funeral flowers (there were a lot, she had known a lot of people), and most have wilted, but some of the roses are growing?

those tiny green leaves are all new growth. do you think they might take root if I keep them watered? I'm not that good with plants but I don't want to toss them if they might keep living.
