"You should live life as effectively as possible because death is inevitable. And we can bicker all day about what death is and what it means, but we're not getting any smarter. It's a fun subject. I love talking about it, but I also hate talking about it because it's a great waste of energy and it does also make us feel bad at times, and scared. And since we really don't know what it is anyway, I think it's important to always speak more about life than death, because it's inevitable anyway." [x]
Melanocetus johnsonii specimen found 2 km off the coast of Tenerife while a group of researchers were observing pelagic sharks.
Anglerfish normally live in the bathypelagic and mesopelagic zones (200-2000 meters deep),
The specimen died minutes after this video was taken and has been preserved by a museum in Spain.
Why do we talk so little about the philosophical meaning of RHRN? Man is afraid of death. Through accepting its necessity and being in the present moment, he gets rid of this fear. Crucifixion on the stage is a voluntary symbolic self-sacrifice. Death does not actually occur: it was all a phobia from which the man was able to free himself. However, through the acceptance of death, he makes the transition to the next stage and acquires new valuable qualities.
This. We moved on from the message of this movie way too fast!
Accepting death as a part of life and reminding yourself everyday to enjoy life and every joyful moment because it IS finite. Stop worrying about the future because you can't know what will happen and no matter how much you overthink, you will never be prepared for every possibility. The only thing certain is death. That is the destination we're all heading towards, without exception. No matter how rich or poor, how sick or healthy. In death we are all the same. Might as well enjoy the ride there as best you can. As long as you're alive, it is not the end.
