Sometimes I feel like the canary curse does Jimmy's character a disservice due to the implication of the metaphor. The canary dies first, and it warns the miners of danger. But the miners are the ones taking the canary into the mines. It doesn't have a choice.
And I feel like that's really dismissive all of the effort Jimmy puts into dying early! That man works AROUND THE CLOCK to start fights and do dangerous bullshit. He is not in a cage, he is flying directly into the danger of his own volition! Give him some credit!
I think for variety we should start giving Jimmy moth symbolism for the "moth to a flame" metaphor. Let him have some agency, it makes it more interesting when he flies directly into the fire for the 10 millionth time.
