First of all I was not expecting this. Even if it makes a ton of sense that they would do something like this.
Second. Where was this energy for WE cast change. There is like negative 100% chance that the costume team wasn't involved with this. Might not be a Gaby Slade creation but I highly doubt she had nothing to do with approving this. So why couldn't they make something new for Laura. Or at least something that works better as a swing costume instead of pink. Or like even variations (I'll take any crumbs ftr).
I legit like it. Its a nice color (pretty sure it is the one I used for my maroon design), cutouts are technically a new design the orange top with silver skirt combo works. And this could kinda solve the black alt looking flat dilemma. They have said no purple costume because that is the branding color. But this one is really dark and reads a little red. It could work.
Not super convinced that an orange skirt would look like that though. I've always believed they would lean into the Aragon skirt with alternating black and orange panels. But this looks nice.
Do I think a sixth alt costume would look exactly like this? No. The orange top with silver skirt combo is too clear. But pretty much everything in the alt costumes can be called the same as another costume atm. So a diff top structure (black), or different sleeves and maybe replacing that central mesh panel with vinyl. The concept is there.
I literally have a million work things to do today and dnd tonight but am actively itching to sketch this. Need to know how the boots looked for no reason at all.
