A/N: Five times Deeks stares at his wife, and once when Kensi stares at her husband. Ok, maybe they’re not married for all of them. Inspired by Kensi’s berating Deeks for staring at her in “Neighborhood Watch”.

Can’t Keep My Eyes Off of You

“Husband don’t stare at their wives.”

“You are so beautiful,” Deeks whispered, eyes dancing over the curve of Kensi’s cheek as he brushes hair back behind her ear.

“You’re staring again,” Kensi murmured back. She didn’t sound particularly upset by it. Maybe amused.

“Mm, well I have a particularly enchanting subject. Has all my attention.” He trailed his fingers over her jaw and down her collar bone. She shivered, arching into his touch. Dipping his head, he followed the same path with his lips, sucking and pressing soft kisses over her skin. He got midway down her neck when she suddenly pushed on his shoulders, flipping him onto his back.

She hovered over him, her eyes bright with desire, thighs bracketing his waist. “The view’s pretty perfect from here too.”

“Oh, you think you can take me Blye? You might get a few good hits in but you’re not strong enough.”

“Yeah? All those muscles are just going to slow you down.”

Sitting on the sidelines, Deeks watched Sam and Kensi verbally spar as they prepared for the more physical variety.

“How long you think they’re going to go on for?” Callen wondered from beside Deeks. He popped a handful of the M&Ms he’d borrowed from Kensi’s desk into his mouth and gestured with the half empty bag.

“Well, I have been training Kensi on the art of distraction,” Deeks said.

“You are the master in that area.”

Callen’s tone stayed neutral, but Deeks decided to interpret it as a compliment. In front of them, Sam and Kensi exchanged their first blows.

“Ten bucks on Kensi,” Callen said.

Kensi attacked strategically, just like always, using her size and flexibility to her advantage. While Sam admittedly had height and build on his size, he wasn’t fast enough to stop her from using one of her signature moves. She kicked the back of his knee, tugging Sam to the ground and quickly wrapping both legs around his neck on a stranglehold.

God, she was amazing. He always found her fighting style impressive, but especially when he got to watch and wasn’t on the receiving end of her skills.

“Ahem. Deeks.”

“Huh?” Deeks whipped his head around to see Callen regarding him with wry amusement.

“You’re staring.”

Deeks shrugged off his slight embarrassment at being cut off-guard, taking a sip from his coffee cup as he watched the end of the fight.

“Just admiring Kensi’s technique.”

Deeks walked out of the kitchen, intending to announce lunch was ready. He stopped short when he realized Kensi and Rosa were engaged in conversation on the couch, a photo album opened between them.

“And these are from when we got engaged,” Kensi told Rosa, speaking in Spanish.

“Oh, you look so beautiful,” Rosa sighed. “Did you take them here in Los Angeles?”

“Yeah. On our favorite beach. Well, at least these ones. We kind of went a little crazy with all of it.” Kensi laughed, brushing her fingers over the paper.

Leaning in the doorway, Deeks watched them interact. Rosa shared a little bit about her parents in between Kensi telling a truncated version of their prolonged engagement. Kensi’s hands moved through the air to emphasize her words. He smiled as he tracked the energetic movement and the ease between her and Rosa.

She looked up mid-word, her smile instantly widening, and gestured him over.

Sometimes he wondered how he got so lucky.

It was late, too late too be up on a school night, but Deeks was feeling decidedly maudlin. The two beers he drank probably didn’t help his current emotional state.

“I could really use your crazy bulgogi dance right about now,” he sighed, grabbing the photo of Kensi in front of him. He usually kept it tucked away behind a group photo of the team, but tonight, he pulled it out, and let the darkness sweep him away.

He ran his index finger over Kensi’s faint smile. He missed her so much. Most days he could distract himself enough to get by, do his job, and convince the team he was just a little lonely. In reality, every day was a struggle. He’d been doing so much better when he had Kensi to support him, even if some of her methods were decidedly questionable.

Now, he had the all too recent trauma from Sidorov in the back of his mind and a broken heart on top of it.

Blinking back tears, he grabbed another beer and propped Kensi’s picture up so he could see it as he laid down.

“We’re married now,” Deeks whispered, resting his forehead against Kensi’s. The reception room had emptied out considerably and now they were dancing to a slow song, arms wrapped around each other.

“Despite everything,” she commented with a soft chuckle. “I didn’t think it would happen for a little bit.”

“Don’t remind me.” He couldn’t be too annoyed right now, even with Kirkin and his shenanigans. “Can’t take me eyes off you,” he sang, just loudly enough for Kensi to hear.

“I know I’m not up on a lot of music, but those aren’t the words,” she teased him, one of her thumbs gently caressing the back of his neck.

“It’s the truth though.”

“I love you, Marty Deeks.” Cupping the back of his head, she kissed him.

“And up, up, up goes the plane! It swirls through the air and does a flip. Oh no! It’s going to be a rough landing!” Deeks shouted, exuberantly but somehow still gently depositing Sophia back into the water.

He stood about thigh deep, Sophia and Caleb in front of him in water wings. They couldn’t quite swim yet, but did an admirable job of keeping their heads up. Not that there was much risk with Deeks carefully monitoring them.

“Me too!” Caleb shouted, his little voice blowing with the wind.

“You want a turn too? Ok, all aboard, the plane’s ready for take off, headed straight for beautiful Puerto Rico. Please keep your seatbelts on.”

Caleb giggled; even if he didn’t fully understand Deeks, he got the general message.

As Deeks flew Caleb through the air, Kensi tracked the muscles of his back and shoulders flexing with the movement. He’d never been more attractive to her than in this moment, with the sun shining down on him, playing with their children with open abandon.

Deeks looked over his shoulder suddenly, almost as if he could feel her gaze on him.

“What?” he shouted, picking both Sophia and Caleb up as a larger wave rolled on.

“Nothing,” she said. Then, after a moment of reconsideration, she dropped her book, and ran out into the water to join them. When she reached Deeks, she wrapped her arm around his waist, staring up into his eyes. “Sometimes I just like to look at you,” she admitted.

A/N: I’m not quite sure I did this fic type quite right. Also, @mashmaiden has convinced me Deeks probably is fairly fluent in Spanish, so he’d be able to understand most of what Kensi and Rosa say.

A/N: A little Deeks and Rosa drabble.

***

Deeks, clicking through to the last slide on his presentation: That’s it for today. Does anyone have ant questions? *A girl in the front immediately raises her hand* Renee?

Renee: Do we have any homework assigned over break?

Deeks: No, absolutely not. We’ll go through a few more cases when we come back on Monday and review chapter eight that Wednesday, but this is your break.

A male student in the back: Mr. Deeks, when’s the next paper due?

Deeks, wryly: Still on April 15th, Jake. Just like it says in the syllabus. And the last slide.

*the rest of the class chuckles but Jake doesn’t seem bothered. Another girl raises her hand*

Deeks: Yes, Esther?

Esther, playfully: Where are you going for break, Mr. Deeks.

Deeks: Some place where none of you can find me. *a couple students fake disappointment* Alright, we’re out of time, so have a great break, get some rest, and please try really hard not to do anything illegal.

Jake: No promises!

*Deeks gathers up his materials while the students file out with a chorus of goodbyes and chatter about their plans. Rosa comes in when the room is mostly empty*

Rosa, teasingly: Good afternoon, Mr. Deeks.

Deeks, warningly: Don’t start. It’s weird enough having them call me that. You’re here early. I thought I was picking you up.

Rosa: Professor Whitman decided to cancel class. We just have to write a post on blackboard and respond to three other posts.

Deeks: Sweet. I need to enter some grades, but after that, you want to grab ice cream?

Rosa: Of course! Oh, but Kensi will be sad.

Deeks, pondering this dilemma for a moment: We’ll get a cooler and some dry ice. *he noticed Rosa biting back a smile* What?

Rosa: Nothing. It’s just kind of cool I get to have my dad at school with me.
