Top 5 Moments from each Helluva Boss Episode (Season 2.5)

What better way to welcome the upcoming New Year than to give everyone my favorite moment from each Helluva Boss episode that released this year!

Full Moon

While absolutely heartbreaking watching these blorbos unknowingly trigger each other as their miscommunication reaches a whole new level of disaster. Blitz's tirade in particular, is my favorite, the sheer emotion, the anger, the betrayal, and the pain coming out of his voice is immense. Brandon Rogers, the voice actor you are...

" What?! FUCK you, Stolas! You spring this feelings bullshit on me, are you fucking kidding?"

"Can I get a FUCKING minute to think after everything you put me through, you pompous, rich ASSHOLE?!"

"Treat me like one of your little butler imps?! You can't just dismiss me like that! I mean, you royal fucks think you can do this EVERY TIME, like you can just play with our feelings because we're smaller and not as IMPORTANT! Well, I'm not letting you, BITCH! LET'S GO!"

Apology Tour

My favorite scene from Apology Tour is also my favorite heartbreaking scene from Helluva Boss in general. Blitz puts down the cake Verosika left for him, puts his hood on, and walks down the staircase as he's forced to see the carnage he unknowingly caused by hurting people the way he does.

This scene in particular, where Blitz watches Stolas supposedly having the time of his life dancing with BTB kills me because it's one of the only times we see Blitz completely give up Stolas, his "heart".

Ghostfuckers

Ghostfuckers is still most definitely one of my favorite episodes from Helluva Boss, and the scene where Millie comforts Blitz is one of my personal favorites. When Blitz feels like he's nothing more than a monster that destroys everything he touches, Millie tells him he's wrong because he gave her, her entire world.

"He gave me so much: a career, a husband, a future, and now... he's my best friend."

"You... you don't hate me?"

"Naw, never."

"Look. What I said earlier, you've just always been so unbothered by everything. Almost bulletproof and, I guess I never realized how much I depended on that. I didn't know how to react to you being reduced to…Bethany. But I should've respected you like you always do for me. I'm sorry."

Mastermind

Mastermind has so many memorable moments: from the beautiful Stolitz duet that I'm still obsessed with to the little cheek kiss at the end. However, no scene can beat the desperation and terror of this scene.

Just when Blitz came to the full realization of his feelings for Stolas, he now has to watch the love of his life die for his sake. Blitz sounds so scared, so desperate. He never wanted to die, but he especially doesn't want someone he cares about to die for him, for his sake.

"No! No, th-Stolas, you- you can't! You can't do this! Stolas please! Get the FUCK off me! Stolas! STOLAS!! Stolas! Fucking-use your powers, do something! Stolas!"

Sinsmas

Sinsmas was filled with so many great and beautiful moments, but this scene in particular means so much to me. We've now reached a point in Blitz's character development, where Blitz allows himself to dream of a happy life where he and Stolas can eventually settle down with their daughters.

It's a real full-circle moment for Blitz because it really shows how much he's grown as a character. Full Moon Blitz would never allow himself to dream of such things. However, Blitz, right now, has grown so much to the point where he is now able to believe that he himself is deserving of love.

"You okay, dad? I can handle this one. You know, if you're not up for it."

"Really?"

"Nah, fuck this. We're going home."

You know, if Blitzø and Stolas actually get married in the last season of HB, and Blitzø has actually become "the most famous imp ever" and is a public figure at that point, you just know Wally is gonna be in the background at that wedding selling Stolitz merch.

Nothing about this situation is canon yet but I'm already laughing at the mental image of Mr. "Blitzo KYS" T-shirt standing in the back of the ceremony with a cheap knockoff "STOLITZ 4 EVER" instead.

Yes, and I still remember the amount of vitriol we would get from Stolago STANS.

(Absolutely no offense to Stolago as a ship, but holy fuck- the whole "it's healthier than Stolitz" movement it garnered- despite Vassago never even being introduced, was annoying)

That said, I was pretty confident Stolago wasn't going to happen the moment Blitz said this.

Blitz is the main protagonist and the entire story revolves around his red ass. And I'm going to be blunt, I have never watched the main protagonist lose their love interest, and that love interest still retains major plot relevancy. It just doesn't happen.

And then you have people that state a love triangle can happen, but it can't because by the time of Ghostfuckers- Blitz had completely given up on the relationship.

People wanted Blitz to fight for Stolas' love, however Blitz fighting for Stolas' love would insinuate that Blitz believes himself to be deserving of that love.

And frankly, Blitz hates himself too much to even believe such a thing.

Blitz will fight for Stolas (and has), but he will not fight for Stolas' love.

OP (the person who sent the ask) and I both got a LOT and I mean a LOT of flack from Stolago shippers- it was stressful.

I kept having someone on reddit send me walls and I mean walls of texts discussing how Vassago can be Stolas' true love that will rescue him from his abusive situationship. While Blitz can be with his one true love, Fizz (completely ignoring Ozzie's existence but okay) or Striker.

OP would just get straight up harassed with Stolago fanfics where Blitz dies, and Vassago says that it was for the best because now Stolas can learn what true love is. Or straight up Stolago smut where they're straight up scissoring, I guess? And somehow that's supposed to be better than sex with Blitz (even though I swear to fuck Stolas loves dick, but okay).

And I... Ever since then I have been heavily uhm... dissuaded into liking the ship.

Blitzø's Inevitable Crash

So Season 2 of Helluva Boss ends with Blitzø playing caretaker / supportive boyfriend / emotional support cat-lizard to his birb, who is literally having the worse day of his life.

Blitzø, right now is at the top of his game and his mental health is at an all time high right now because this is a Blitzø who has fully accepted the fact that he is loved and it is okay to love and be loved.

But Blitzø himself hasn't learned to love himself or appreciate himself more, and the show makes it so glaringly obvious. And all I can think about is how Blitzø is going to crash so hard in Season 3 as his self-loathing eventually gets worse and worse to the point it eventually explodes...

Because Blitzø is most definitely putting his own mental health in the backburner in favor of helping Stolas adjust to his new life as a commoner, and life without being codependent on his daughter.

And right now, that's fine.

But here's the thing about relationships, it's a two-way street.

Blitzø can't play caretaker and supportive boyfriend forever, and eventually it's going to be Stolas' turn to support Blitzø when he needs it the most.

And the reason why I think it has to be Stolas?

Because Stolas hasn't seen Blitz cry yet...

Because Stolas has seen the marked out photos on Blitzø's walls, but he hasn't drawn attention to them yet...

Because Stolas knows that Blitzø has his own set of issues...

Right now Blitzø is acting as Stolas' light...

Just as Blitzø was the light that taught Stolas that he too could forge his own destiny, and make his own choices...

He's going to be the guiding light that will help him navigate his new way of life as a commoner.

As Stolas learns to find love through community, hopefully he'll soon be able to see the benefits that came from choosing Blitz in the end...

And hopefully one day Stolas can be the heart that Blitzø needs to learn to appreciate himself more...

Just as he was the heart that helped Blitzø realize that it's okay to love and be loved.

It never fails to delight me when I remember how easily Blitz falls into being a sweet and supportive partner.

The guy hasn't been in a serious romantic relationship in years, but there is no learning curve at all to him being considerate and romantic.

We already knew internally Blitz is desperate to be soft.

But seeing how natural he was with it once he felt secure really shows how close to the surface he actually keeps these things.

He immediately knew exactly how he wanted to be with Stolas.

He's been thinking about this, fantasizing about this, hoping for this for ages.

Don't mind me just thinking about how Blitz has had this tough guy persona and has so many walls put up just to survive in hell on his own.

And the last few episodes solidified to him that even when the world is about to end, it can get better for him. He won't always have the short end of the stick.

He didn't think anyone would come to his rescue. Why would they? It's him. But then Stolas did.

And he's extatic and scared. So so so scared. Scared he's going to drive him away. Scared he's going to not be enough. Scared that he won't be needed as much as he desperately wants to be. Scared that he'll get those around him killed. Scared of loving them. Scared of loving Stolas.

But for now, he can relax his shoulders. He can caress a feathery cheek. He can watch him sleep and kiss his lips. He can breathe. Just for now.
