I just finished a short book on "how to write scary", since that seems useful as a skill, and man........the author cautioned not to over-use fear signifiers because that can make a character come off as a wuss, and as an example he wrote a paragraph from the point of view of the most pathetic man possible......and when I tell you I was sweating and shaking reading that. there is something so wrong with me.

oh I feel bad that so many people are misunderstanding this. I'm afraid that I'm Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary posting again.
for those asking, hereโs the paragraph. I love Henry Hero more than life itself, and would pay gold to read about his adventures
Someone just told you to avoid writing Courage the Cowardly Dog and that is a gigantic mistake.
Be a carefree flying bird.
based off this scene!
Iโm sorry but I will truly never get over Ekko who lost his mentor and all his friends at a young age, then spent the rest of his childhood building a beautiful and strong community that helped get shimmer addicts off the streets and give them a new life that thrived off of trust, respect, and loyalty while slowly watching the girl he loves lose herself to her psyche and become an unhinged suicidal terrorist who he is unable to save despite repeated attempts at it. And THEN gets booted into an alternate reality where he learns he could have had EVERYTHING, the beautiful and thriving community, the education, his family, and the girl he loves and he heartbreakingly leaves it all behind because he knows he doesnโt belong there and he has to go back to save his people which he DOES multiple times at great risk despite knowing what overextending his z-drive could do only to end up completely alone in the end. The most selfless character in the entire series. Thatโs my boy savior.
Ekko literally savescumming to try other dialogue options to stop Jinx is killing me I love him so much
They made having blue hair and pronouns illegal in piltover
i know we're all sick of self-care being a marketing tactic now, but i don't think a lot of us have any other concept of self-care beyond what companies have tried to sell us, so i thought i'd share my favorite self-care hand out
brought to you by how mad i just got at a Target ad
OP this is EXCELLENT
Now THATโS a self care resource! If youโve gotten distracted by capitalismโs appropriation of โself-careโ and watering the meaning down to nothing this is a super helpful guide to cut through the bullshit.

if you picked no or didnt know they existed well:
The Hobbit (youtube upload. for some reason the hobbit radio drama has a lot of youtube uploads?)
LOTR Trilogy (internet archive. THE TRACK NAMES DONT SAY WHICH BOOK IS WHICH ASDFASF. It's all in order but its like 97 tracks)
anyways back when i was a teenager I watched the LOTR trilogy and then tried to read the books and failed... So i tried the audiobooks. Still failed. Then I found these audio dramas (radio plays, not audiobooks). i love them so much there is so much heart in these.
The Hobbit is my definitive version because i listened to it right after i watched the movies (the hobbit movies didnt exist yet, i stand by this radio drama version its incredible)
So a thought occurs to me about a possible snowball effect from this verdict.
Trump is the first president to be declared a felon.
Under u.s law in most states Felons are not allowed to vote.
Trumps supporters are very zealous, and once they learn this might explode
This may lead to felonies no longer restricting a citizens right to vote.
This is probably a good thing as a lot of people disenfranchised by an unfair legal system will regain their right to vote.
(Note this is an idle thought, I am not a political analyst)
It suddenly occurs to me that with the Greek Myth Renaissance on this site between Epic: The Musical and Hades 2 EA. There is an almost certainty we will see artists rise up to use the EPIC songs with the visual design from Hades. Especially since in the EA Odysseus is a large prescene.
Question for a Fandom.
I'm watching that Roku adaptation of The Spiderwick Chronicles.
Aside from the modernization were the Grace kids a lot younger in the book? I get the vibes the actors are all about 4 years older.
It's an interesting experiment going into an adaptation I know is an adaptation. But having never read the books. So what's the general consensus on this adaptation? Better than that old movie i never watched or a hack job?
If I had a nickel for every manga/Anime I've read where cannibalism was the solution. I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice
So not trying to stir the pot too much here, but as someone who enjoys playing Wyll as an avatar more than in party. Are all the content complaints about him as a companion or in general? Out of the loop right now cause I got hyperfixated on relink this month
As a fan of women and Rpgs I find it kind of funny how diametrically different my romance choices in crpgs are. To contrast my 2 favorite companies, let's look at Larian and Owlcat girls.
Larian
Fairly conventionally attractive, not really even near the bizzare tier. If I'm honest these characters got a lot from their voice. All of these girls are because character, but these are like basic attractive traits. Lohse stands out by being like the only cheerful teammate in her game. And I swear to God it's really hard not to like Shadowheart after her development in Act 2
In contrast Owlcat has also has conventially attractive characters. But looks at these girls
While I'm not approaching monsterfucker tier by any means. It's weird that, especially with the existence of Karlach i prefer the split personality tiefling over her. And Cassia's extra eyes, gills, and clawed fingers have this strange beauty to them. The Arushale is just the excellent contradiction of a wholesome Succubus. (I have tried and failed multiple times to romance someone else in WOTR)
Anyways this is just me musing on fictional women I pike the writing of and especially how they
