*From r/geometricnightmares: Geometric nightmares are "a specific type of dream, often occurring during illness, that involves shapes or objects, themes of infinity, pressure, an overwhelming sense of unease or terror and anxiety, a void and incomprehensibly large or small objects, and/or a crushing silence."

They're kinda hard to explain; check out the subreddit for some examples.

I hate the trope of "I refuse to hit women!! [Gets decked]" cause it's boring but I do like the trope of someone in an RPG going "hey I don't wanna hit a kid that's kinda fucked up" and the kid just obliterates them

"i refuse to hit a woman!" = Sexist, overdone, does nothing to actually empower the woman or make the guy seem nice

"I refuse to hit a kid" = valid, even funnier when the kid whips absolutely ass in one go

not in a cool sexy way though, girl.... kinda like this.

i wish there was an easier way to tell the difference between an "if it sucks hit da bricks" situation and a "sometimes being an adult means doing things that you dont wanna" situation

The best answer to this that I've seen is "You are free to do whatever you like. You must only live with the consequences."

"If it sucks, hit da bricks" is for when you realize that you actually definitely can live with the consequences of Not Doing The Thing.

"Sometimes being an adult means doing things that you don't wanna" is for when you've thought it over and it turns out you would strongly prefer NOT to live with the consequences of Not Doing The Thing.

asked my students if they wanted to share stories about what they did over spring break and this kid goes "you know the field behind costco?" and we all nod and he says "I got lost in the field behind costco."

It's amazing how I cannot draw any conclusions about the age of the student from this. Timeless. Could be any of us, really.
