I think the failure of nonviolent tactics is most evident not just in the 'how can the hungry go on a hunger strike' way, but in that, for example, trying to block a bulldozer with your body isn't very effective when the bulldozer is actively trying to run you over.

if the oppressor's goal is to starve you to death then a hunger strike only expedites the process

you ask a usamerican what their culture is like and they explain the fact that they have small businesses

the closest that any gringo (scientific term for usamerican) comes to a national culture is when they scroll through a list of them as search options on 'GrubHub'

scary futureworld dystopia where everyone has to wear a uniform but instead of being boring nondescript suits its pink frilly dresses that swish with every step and the ribbons bounce and you have to do a cutesy pose for facial recognition scans

grizzled mercenaries are always being like "I'm sick and tired of being a pawn in someone elses game" like their job isn't literally rent-a-pawn

"I hate being a pawn in someone elses game" yeah sure thing grandpa, I'll give you $50 if you move to D4

It's really irritating how many people are talking about the US-China trade war as a petty tit for tat and not China correctly defending its economic interests against a dying imperialist global hegemon quickly descending into open fascism. China is doing the correct thing by not bowing to a country that will soon be in the dustbin of history like its own child it outlived, Nazi Germany. The US cannot survive the loss of its manufacturing base, which it largely moved to China, and will suffer immensely more than China does by trying to sanction it and will be forced to come to the table with the rest of the world as equals and not as global dictator
