mario being a normal unassuming working class looking guy is so integral to my enjoyment of him like i respect people who try to make him look more grand or fantastical or wtvr for having fun but him looking like just a normal short fat dude in work gear while he sends big scary monsters and demons and witches and shit to make peace with their gods directly is the whole appeal actually.
