I do not speak for everyone but from some readers who I talk to a main reason for the lack of engagement some writers get is because we no longer feel heard by you guys , you write and give us talented and amazing fiction to enjoy but the exchange goes both ways , readers also want input on fics and deserve to be heard if we want to learn or understand more of the fics you guys write , but recently I’ve seen such an elitist attitude from some writers ? Like Wdym no I’m not gonna answer a basic question about a fic , or that the reader shouldn’t ask about the direction of the fic , it’s not even the refusal it’s the way you guys say it ??? Like gheez okay I want interact I want ask or support your fic because when we do you shit on us ? Like bring a better attitude and your Damn fic we get the love it receives it’s not that hard on you guys part aswell , admin in not even talking about you but like it has to be said I’m sorry
Firstly, I definitely agree that it is a two way street on engagement. Writers and readers go hand in hand in having engagement with one another and if both parties aren’t actively engaging, or one is more than the other, it’s just not gonna work out ultimately.
While I see where you’re coming from, I think it’s super important to remember that writers on here are not getting paid and are doing this because they genuinely want to. If you feel that you aren’t being heard, there is a better way to voice that to them instead of, like some of these anons, being blatantly rude to writers. Also remember that they are people with REAL feelings behind the screen.
Now if some writers are being rude to you for asking simple questions about their work, I would not give them the time of day. Some can be like that unfortunately, but not all of them. Go to the spaces where your input and engagement matters🤍🤍🤍
