im making a new pinned post lmao

hello hello this blog used to be either paperclipearrings or marialagidyne, and as the latter is my online art presence i have cannibalized that into a separate art side blog that you can find here! i have also abandoned this tumblr at one point to be on twitter, but filled my queue to at least keep it active (that queue has now run out), and you may find my main twitter here, and my art twitter here!

if you are on desktop, feel free to click on the "about me" link in the sidebar since i dont remember what the url was to link it on mobile lol

I think tumblr should preserve the following/mutuals badge on anons. It'd make the website worse but in a really good way. it should be applied retroactively too

oh dear. pour one out for @staff today folks

a lot of people in the notes are trying to speculate how many people are left on tumblr. the last solid headcount i got was during the previous mass layoff, when they cut staff from ~140 to ~70.

I have no idea how many it was for this layoff, but based on the number of people I personally know who have been laid off from Tumblr, it's more than 16% for the Tumblr staff

I just think that if nintendo is going to create a feature that even gets a dedicated button as part of the selling point then you should not need to pay a subscription service just to use it

having a button that you can’t press unless you wanna spend money means that nintendo has recreated the experience of accidentally pressing the internet button on your flip phone and you go you fuckfuckfuck as you try to back out as fast as possible before it charges your parents

It's not just to have a "do over" that doesn't involve the original cast, it's to cut them out of the royalties. Literally the entire point is to make sure all the money made by Harry Potter goes to transphobes or people willing to work with transphobes.

If you watch it, you are supporting bigotry, hate, and oppression. That's just objective reality. All for a story that you probably have already seen in movie and book form.

There's people in the notes saying they're going to watch it anyway, and you know, I understand how you can start feeling so burned out and numb from the world that it may feel too hard to avoid things that will give you a little immediate relief in some way in order to avoid the long-term impact of funding these things.

But. If you can't bring yourself to avoid watching it, you better at least fucking pirate it.

I’m going to be so honest with you, if you can’t find a way to disengage from Harry Potter at this point I’m just assuming you don’t give a fuck about trans people. Please for the love of god move on and find a different piece of media to spend your time and money engaging with. There are other works out there. I do not have any sympathy for you if you can’t do the bare fucking minimum here. It costs you nothing to NOT watch a show. Be so for real.

Point blank: What you are effectively doing is saying that you care more about being entertained (with one particular form of media) than you care about distancing yourself from a creator who wants to harm trans people using the money and support she gains from being entertaining. You’re being selfish. That’s what you’re doing. Plain and simple. And I do not have sympathy for you if that makes you feel bad. You SHOULD feel bad that you don’t care enough about trans safety to MILDLY inconvenience yourself.
