He sat in a chair in the corner, legs stretched out in front of him and crossed at the ankles. His attention on @kssnkate who was stood near the filled tub, warm steam rising from the water within it. They didn't often get to welcome the warmth of a fresh basin of water, usually cleaning off in a stream or lake. Today was different as they'd lucked out in a small town with nothing but a saloon and train station. It was small enough for no one to recognize the likes of any of them from wanted posters, namely her. Most didn't know what he looked like and those that did were generally too scared to share the details. The Bandit King was elusive and hard to catch, but Kate? She didn't shy away from her face being known despite many of those she robbed dying with a lipstick mark left upon their face. He found it fascinating, but it certainly made for a harder a time in settling into some towns. But this place barely passed as a town. They'd be fine to clean themselves and rest for the night before getting back on their horses.

She had invited him to join her in the washroom knowing he wouldn't do a thing to aid her in the beginning. He was here to watch the process, enjoy the slow nature of it as they were in the privacy of a room. A rare feat for them these days. A tent their usual escape. Tonight they'd have this room and a bed to share, Cletus in his own room. So Henry was soaking it up, the bandit enjoying as she began to remove her duster and toss it over another chair within the room. He watched with a calm, but eager stare as she undid her gunbelt and set it aside as well-- figure moving to remove boots and socks next. Their eyes met momentarily and he was sure there was a glint in her eyes as she started to pull from the rest of her clothes-- that glint only darkening with a wanton feeling he felt deep in his chest.

Her shirt went next, the fabric falling to the floor rather than meeting the chair. His eyes barely flicking to it as he focused instead on the curve of perky breasts and fair skin marred with scars here or there, but nothing that made it ghastly to look at her. Not that he was sure a scar could scare his stare away. In fact he was letting out a low whistle only to murmur, "Slowly, darlin'," when she went for her trousers next, turning her frame just slightly so he had view of her ass. The push of the pants and undergarments had him wetting his bottom lip, hissing a breath and tilting his head to glance her over. She was a sight. A damned beautiful one and he wasn't afraid to say that, "You're a sight to behold, Kate, ya know that?"

ใ€Œ BARE ใ€ : for sender to undress in front of receiver

It was rare they made their way out to the dried up area of Green Lake. It was a long abandoned town at this point, years passed since the lake simmered away in the sun. A beautiful place now desolate and sad, but remembered by few.. @kssnkate was one of those few. Especially when it came to the grave she'd made herself some time after her love's passing. She mentioned to him once his body was lost to the lake and that only his boat was found, the woman making a marker near that settled into dirt boat. It was a small boat, but it was turned over and part of the scenery. He had only seen the grave once when he walked out to find where she'd gone off to in their stop here, the woman having told him she had business to tend to. She had spat at him with anger when he sneaked up on her. The next couple times they went he kept his distance with Cletus, just as he was doing now.

He had been leaning against the remnants of a dead tree while Cletus buried himself in some book Kate had given him, a truce in its written text that he didn't understand. But at least the two were no longer fighting nearly as much. McDoon had been smoking a cigarette but the stick was long forgotten on the ground now, stomped out by the heel of his boot. He was fixing to call out for Kate when she suddenly stepped into view, walking their way with a look or perplexation on her face. He shouldered off the tree and met her near the horses, his own reaching out to brush along Hornet's neck as he murmured whether or not she was ready to go.

โ€œ someone's been leaving flowers on his grave again. โ€

The words give him pause for two reasons: the fact someone else has been coming out this way to know him and the fact it was again. She hadn't mentioned the first or any other time. It furrowed his brow some, but he tried not to show too much of a reaction to it. If it were up to him they wouldn't have even made this stop in the passing by, but... he knew Kate wanted to, knew she needed to. He decided in that moment to focus on the overall statement she'd just made than be bitter about being here, "Again? Didn't know there was a first, darlin'." He turned his frame some, looking at her further to study her expression trying to read how she felt about it, "Got any clue who it could be?"

He'd been wondering for a bit now where Cletus had gone off to. The man somewhere in the range of camp as his horse was still tied to a tree nearby. He couldn't have gone far, but he'd debated for a bit if he should even go looking for him. McDoon had picked up on him being a certain way prior to the three of them making camp, Kate even murmuring something about it that had the bandit scoffing. Surely @dicetray would get over it. Whatever it was. Still, he knew the right and correct thing to do was to check on his partner. They'd been through enough together that him not checking on Cletus would surely bring a sour note to this voyage he didn't want to deal with. So, with a sigh of defeat after Kate said something again, McDoon made his way from camp towards a stream hoping to find the man there.

He spotted him before the other heard him, but a crack of a branch under foot was enough to spin Cletus with a small freight. He seemed to relax relatively quickly at the sight of the bandit though, McDoon holding his hands up as if to show he was approaching with no ill intent.

' oh , mcdoon . it's just you . '

His brow quickly furrowed at it, the tone that Cletus spoke wasn't one of relief but of almost annoyed realization. "Would it be better if I were some guy just lookin' to rob ya?" McDoon asked it as he stepped up beside the other, coming to a stop a few feet off from him with hands dropping to his hips. He stood tall there, their heights similar but McDoon standing just a couple inches above him. He didn't tower, but he was definitely a presence when it came to standing beside Cletus and definitely Kate. He scoffed as he spoke again, "What's on your mind? Somethin' got you all twisted out of sorts?"

nights with mcdoon made the long days of riding or completing jobs all the more worth it. even in her calloused heart, there was romantic still very much alive in there, one that had been sitting in the shadows and starving until she had given into the bandit. green lake kate would never found herself falling for a criminal, but kissin' kate? she appreciated henry mcdoon . . . she'd rather have someone who was open with what he was about than someone that masqueraded as something entitled to praising while secretly committing vile deeds. that was the makings of a real monster.

her mouth fell open as his fingers curled and dragged inside of her, a moan spilling from them with a furrowed brow. she could feel his sucking and biting against her thigh, and she knew she'd have a few trophies to find come morning, but she didn't mind. there was no way she could do anything other than melt into him when he wrapped her around his finger like this.

she panted out another moan when his mouth took over against her clit, her need for him throbbing between his legs and becoming all the more evident as his mouth and fingers slicked against her. " henry, baby . . . " she breathed out, her fingers curling into dark locks as her hips rolled up towards his mouth wantonly. " c - c'mere . . . i've wanted to kiss you all day . . . "

She was wet under his tongue, a dampness to her that he knew only he could bring out of her. He could've stayed right there, but found himself stopping at her encouragement to kiss her instead. The hushed tone of her voice, the way she said his name.. the gentle plea. He pulled his mouth back from her and allowed himself to crawl up her frame, settling himself still between her legs. His dressed form brushing to her core and his mouth blindly finding hers in the dark. A kiss ensued that took him quickly to a place he only felt he could get to with her. A place that felt unearthly and yet so damned grounding. He moaned into it-- a throbbing in his trousers leaking with want at knowing what was to come.

He knew she'd taste herself on his mouth and that ignited the fire in him more, hand dropping between them to push at his pants-- fumbling with them momentarily before getting himself free. The cool air touched his taught skin and he broke from the kiss, hissing a short breath only to collide his mouth with hers again knowing her lipstick was smearing and staining his skin. But he didn't care, all he cared about was the way she kissed him back and the way he fit into her. His dick slicking against the wet warmth before pressing into her.

A low moan slipped from him as he slid into her, filling her with his length and lifting his hand up. His digits slid over her throat, circling his hand around the warm flesh and gently giving a squeeze. Nothing too firm, but enough of a hold to keep her where she lied. He broke their kiss, but only briefly to pant out a low, "Fuck you feel good.." but he was back against her lips moments after it, crashing their mouths together for another hungry kiss.

kate was going stir crazy in this cabin. the longer she sat, the louder her thoughts were. the longer they stayed stuck here, the more miles trout was likely putting between them. surely, he had gotten to the other side of this storm system, and if he had? he was breaking loose. miles were being gained that were putting them back to square one.

the comment had been made out loud and directed to no one in particular, but mcdoon's response had her sour mood worsening. there had been plenty of times she had debated getting on her horse and braving the rain, but she knew that'd be stupid. she needed mcdoon and cletus as backup, as much as she hated to admit it. and riding through the cold rain? she'd catch her death out there, or at least, be weakened to some degree that would leave her vulnerable. it was stupid to go alone.

" look, i didn't tell you to do anything, " she spat back at him, her jaw setting into place. " wasn't even talkin' to you. i was just . . . talkin'. i'm sick of this stupid rain and i'm goin' crazy in here. cletus just had to put a coffee can under another leak in here! "

He looked over at her as she bit back at him, frown working its way to his face as she explained what was driving her mad. He rolled his large browns and brought the cigarette back up so he could take a puff from it. He snorted at the mention of the leak and he shook his head, nodding it after towards the inside of the house. The cigarette was pulled away, smoke puffing out, "Beats lettin' the floor get wet for all of us to be walkin' on, yeah?"

He glanced her over, frown still hard on his face as he extended the cigarette towards her in offering. It wasn't meant to be a peace offering by any means, but something that would hopefully calm her the hell down. Last thing he needed was her going crazy in the midst of all this. She and Cletus both being up in arms about the small space were enough to drive him crazy.

"Look, we ain't goin' anywhere fast," he sighed the licked his lips, waiting for her to take the cigarette from him, "Best we can fuckin' do is keep ourselves busy and entertained until this lets up, yeah? Best find yourself a book and hunker the hell down." Paused, slow beat then, "Or.. we can entertain each other."

He'd awoken four days ago to find Kate gone, a note in her place stating she'd found the location of Trout's right hand man. That she was riding out alone to handle it and if things went well.. she'd be back in three days. A lip-stained kiss on the bottom of it. Her signature. He stared at it, rereading it over and over until he was sure there was no telling which direction she'd gone. How did she even have that information? When did she have time to get it? Hadn't they been together for months now, running side by side. How did he miss her doing anything related to Trout outside of what they'd already been tracking? He felt a fool in some manner, felt like he'd been deceived.. tricked. But he had to trust that wasn't what was happening, had to believe she would be back. Three days.

Cletus told him they should go. Told them they had no reason to stay and that they'd be better off, but McDoon... goddam did he refuse. He knew if he tried to so much as leave this abandoned house in the fields of Kentucky that he'd have regrets. And he wasn't a man made of regrets. Hell, he'd killed his own daddy. He had no attachment when it came to people or things, but there was something dreadful in his stomach about all this. He couldn't lie and say he didn't care about her, couldn't lie and pretend he didn't feel strongly for her. He hadn't intended for that to happen, but as the days rolled by and the third one came to an end? Something terrible bubbled in his stomach, strange and frightful that he wasn't used to. What did he do if she didn't come back? That night Cletus encouraged him to think about heading out in the morning, encouraged that they get going before the law or someone else caught up to them. There was, after all, a bounty on the head of the Bandit King. They couldn't stay here too long. Someone else would come along.

As the morning came along so did a pour of rain. It was impossible to see the horizon with it and Cletus cursed whoever was up there about it, but McDoon didn't say anything. He kept his tongue silent and his mind racing, wondering still about her and where she could be. It had him on the porch as the day reached noon, the rain never letting up and Cletus somewhere inside reading away at a book of poems. He was sure he got it from Kate. But he said nothing about it. Choosing instead to smoke his third cigarette for the two hour block he'd been out there sat in a chair watching the rain fall. He wasn't sure if that time passed quickly or not, but he knew for certain when he saw something. A figure a top a horse galloping through the rain in his direction. A frown instantly etched across his face, but a swell of hope warmed through him. That was something he wasn't used to. Something he knew to beat back and never hold onto, but as that figure got closer the more he made out just who it was. @kssnkate. He pulled the cigarette from his mouth as he rose from the chair, tossing it into the rain and taking a step off the porch.

The rain collided with his frame, but he didn't stop as he moved towards the approaching horse and woman. Eventually coming to a stop when the horse reared back to a halt. She slid off the horse and he paused there, rain suddenly soaking and drenching him through. "Kate..." he wasn't a man built for relief, but he felt it as their eyes connected. Felt it more as the space between them was closed with both their moving frames. They collided and his hands grabbed at her face, drawing her in for a kiss that knocked both their hats off their heads. They fell to the muddy ground, but he didn't let up. The kiss consuming him completely, knowing all too well it was conveying a piece of him he'd never uttered out loud before. An emotion he'd never told to anyone, but he didn't stop. He let that fill him as relief washed over him. The rain giving that metaphorical feeling something physical.

it was late, hours past sunset and the crickets were chirping their nightly chorus that was occasionally punctuated by the content grumbles from their horses. the campfire had been tamped out for the evening on kate's last trip to relieve herself, and in passing, she had noticed a faint glow emitting from cletus' tent. three days earlier, they had found a little free library set up in a town they were passing through, and kate had put a couple of books for herself in her pack. cletus had been eyeing the books with interest too, and she had decided to raise a white flag by offering one of her picks. a collection of poetry from some of her favorite classic poets. he had turned his nose up at her, but when she caught him a quarter of the way through the book that evening, some sort of pride had filled her. a silent acceptance by cletus that she figured was continuing within his illuminated tent.

she kicked off her boots outside the tent and lifted the flap before ducking into the tent she had been sharing with mcdoon the past few months. it was admittedly nice, having a warm body to curl up with on those cold nights and to see the light pout of his slumbering lips in the morning. if there wasn't something fundamentally fucked in the way her heart had been ripped to shreds, maybe she would allow herself to feel something. or maybe she wouldn't be in crippling denial.

he had been curled up when she entered their mostly dark tent, so she tried to remain quiet as she took her hair out of the braid it had been in all day so she could brush the knots out of it. once that was fixed, she went to undo the fastenings of her pants . . . and that's when he struck from his faux slumbering state. large hands shot out to grab her by her thighs and pull her over to him, earning a yelp and a laugh from her as her weight naturally fell into his chest.

" i thought you were asleep! " she hissed with a playful scold before she watched him lift his head to steal a kiss. forgiveness instantly washed over her as she melted into it, becoming putty that he molded and moved with ease onto her back against the bed roll.

his hands went for her riding trousers and underwear, tugging them down her legs. she hissed at the feeling of the cool night air hitting her exposed lower half, especially so when his palms widened her position. she felt an ache in the pit of her stomach for him, one that grew and deepened as warm lips and the scruff he had acquired throughout the day brushed against her inner thigh. her lips that were stained a rosy shade from the lipstick she had on throughout the day parted as a moan rolled from her throat to the surface, one hand coming down to smooth through dark locks.

his calloused hand slipped between her folds, his thumb pressing against her sensitive nub as teeth dragged against and sunk into her flesh in a way that threatened bruising for the next day. it earned a needy buck of her hips as her eyes squeezed shut, fingers gripping tighter at his hand in silent command.

she knew that cletus was just twenty feet away in a tent of his own, and she hoped more than anything that those crickets kept singing their nightly song to muffle out the heat emitting from the shared tent.

@mcswoon, ใ€Œ INNER ใ€ : for sender to kiss along the inside of receivers thigh

McDoon had retired prior to her and Cletus, slipping into the tent with intention to rest for whatever day ahead they had next. He'd been in and out of sleep, hearing his two cohorts move about outside but overall he'd had his eyes shut and his mind turned off. He knew that in due time Kate would be entering their shared tent and he'd be able to fall asleep fully. It felt childish to admit that, but he wouldn't say it out loud. Wouldn't let anyone know just how attached he was to her and what she offered him. Be it the warmth of her body against his or the comfort of her touch. Maybe it was her smile... or the way she'd push at him. He couldn't place it, but he felt attached to her in ways he didn't want to put a name on. It'd become too real. But part of him.. part of this bandit wanted it to be real. He yearned for a life mixed into all this stealing, killing, and whatnot. But who'd want to settle with the likes of a man labeled the 'bandit king'.

He wasn't thinking about any of that though when she entered the tent and definitely wasn't thinking about it when he grabbed at her, drawing her close and in so their bodies could press together. He kissed her, warm and slow before going for her clothes below her waist. Tugging and drawing them away until she was without them and he had the ability to dive in. Kissing along her inner thighs and running his fingers through damp folds. He knew she'd be putty, knew she'd melt right into despite his ability to stay sleeping. He could've. He could've laid there and let her curl against him, but he didn't. He couldn't. He wanted to fall asleep with her in a way that would leave them both spent, content, and maybe a bit tired for tomorrow. He knew Cletus would have words to grumble about it, but that didn't stop him.

Fingers pressed at her tight entrance as he sucked at her thigh, nipping and wanting to leave behind a mark or two. He slid just inches above the spot, leaving another mark in his wake as his fingers slid in and out-- widening and curling to feel her warmth. He groaned as he pulled his fingers away, mouth popping away from her skin and head quickly turning to run his tongue against her. He flicked the tip of it along her nub then pressed to it properly, rubbing and teasing her with every intention to have her panting for more.

the trio had stopped in a town called valentine, which seemed to be fitting for the plans that kate and mcdoon had conjured for themselves that evening. she had insisted on, at least, getting ready in her own room of the motel they were staying at. if they were to end up together for the night, they could come back here and let cletus have his own space where mcdoon was getting ready. the past few jobs they had done had gotten them some extra coin to play with, so they had splurged on something to clean themselves up for the night.

kate had bought herself a pretty green dress, one that had intricacies of stitching and lace incorporated into it. it hugged her at the bodice and flared out, just brushing the boots she had given a good clean to go underneath it. she hadn't gotten herself new shoes - a dress would be enough extra weight to tuck away. she had scrubbed herself in the bathtub with a rose and lavender soap she had bought at the drugstore, her skin soft and perfumed. the tangles had been brushed from her hair before she pinned it up with a couple of hair combs to get it out of her face, the rest of her dark locks hanging in soft tendrils down her shoulders and back. as she gave herself a look in the mirror, she saw a ghost of herself. she looked nearly like the woman who had educated the youth of green lake. her skin was more freckled from sun exposure and was starting to form faint lines in the corner of her eyes and between her brow from fretting. her eyes carried a weight of someone who had lived a tough existence but carried one hell of a story. she didn't look like the kate that murdered men in her path to trout walker or the kate that was plastered on wanted posters in several counties. she was simply just kate barlow in this moment.

she had promised @mcswoon that she could meet him downstairs at six o'clock, so when the clock in her room chimed, she quickly grabbed her small purse and headed out the door. boots clicked down the hall and then down the stairs before she spotted a familiarly shaped but equally cleaned up figure standing there waiting. when he turned, her breath caught in her chest and her pupils naturally dilated with the warmth that filled her gaze. he was truly the most handsome man in the world.

she was simply too stunned to move down from the last step, which gave him the chance to step over and be eye to eye with her. she felt his hand take hers and watched as he brought her hand up to his lips to press a kiss. it caused her lips to press together and form into a soft smile as she found it impossible to take her eyes off of him. " you clean up nicely, mr. mcdoon, " she murmured.

[ hand ] a chivalrous kiss on the back of the partner's hand

He'd taken time to clean himself up nice in the room he'd already told Cletus would be his for the night. There'd been grumbling and some complaining about how McDoon was spending too much time with that devil woman, but he only laughed it off and said that he'd go to Hell if it meant a night alone with her. It gotten a scoff out of Cletus before the man was leaving the room altogether, claiming he'd give Henry his privacy and that he had some mail to send off. He didn't believe the second part in the least, but he didn't question it. Instead he spent his time getting ready for tonight. Dinner in the salon, maybe a walk around town. They'd find ways to the pass the time before retiring to her room.

He cleaned himself in the tub within the room, a warm bath felt like a goddamn dream in this time. They rarely had the comfort of one, usually bathing in creeks or rundown towns that barely had wood on the walls to keep a draft out. He'd bought a bar of soap, something that smelled nice but he couldn't pinpoint the scent of. He didn't ask, just purchased it along with a new shirt, some jeans and then wandered on out with a nod at the store owner. He'd considered a new hat, but he liked his and instead went about cleaning it after his bath. Even cleaned his boots some to make them look less dusted and little shinier.

He knew that he didn't have to clean up all that much to get from Point A to Point B, but he knew she was putting in some effort with this and he wanted to too. Besides... he'd be lying if he said he didn't like the idea of sharpening up. He was a good looking guy and he knew he could clean up nicely. All he had to do was put in the goddamn effort that included slicking back his hair and settling his cleaned hat on his head. He'd slid into his new attire, the black shirt an exact opposite too the usual white he liked to wear. The stand offish desire to stick out now mixed into a desire to blend in. He didn't want too much attention drawn to him tonight. Didn't stop him from wearing a gun on his hip, settling with the one over the two he usually wore.

He'd been down the steps before she was, leaning into the railing of the stairs only looking up when he heard the sound of someone approaching. After about the third one, it was her. His eyes landing on the woman clad in her nice green dress and hair done up kindly. His lips twitched into a grin as he pushed away from the rail, coming over to meet her as she settled on the final step putting them at eye level. She was beautiful. He was so used to seeing her in men's clothing and with her hair down that it felt strange almost to see her. But it wasn't unwelcomed and he pulled his hat from his head as she smiled, his hand finding hers to lift and press a delicate kiss to.

She complimented him and he let his grin grow, eating at his face a little with smug confidence. He lowered their hands, but kept his hold on hers... thumb stroking the back of hers, "You look mighty fine yourself, Miss Barlow." He stepped back, gently leading her with so she could come down from the step. He settled his free hand onto his belt buckle and released her hand only to present his arm to her, "Feeling hungry or should we take a walk through this town? See if we can't find a place to drink and talk."
