When urged by Uther to take a husband, Morgana gets herself and Gwen tangled in a lie. But maybe, they discover, it wasn't so far from the truth after all.

(Also: Five times Gwen calls Morgana "my lady" and one time she doesn't.)

“Gwen takes perfect care of me already. I don't know what I would need a husband for.” (...) “I know how fond you are of the girl, but you can't marry your maidservant.” Morgana felt trapped. Anxiety was rising in her – she feared to be given away, to have her autonomy taken, to lose her home. The words came out before she could think about them: “But I don't want anyone else. We're in love.” “My lady!” Gwen gasped behind her.

Summary: In an attempt to distract himself from his unrequited feelings for Arthur, Merlin hooks up with Mordred. Arthur, for some indiscernible reason, is not amused.

Excerpt: "But back to the topic of the aforementioned feelings – it would be one thing for Merlin to have some elaborate wank fantasies over a bloke who's hot, can't help it, nobody's fault, a hot bloke's a hot bloke. But the whole falling-in-love thing, was that really necessary? Couldn't destiny have been content with making Merlin think with his private parts, did it have to bring his heart into the equation? Well. Most likely, Merlin mused, destiny had nothing to do with it and it was just the usual, as it has been all throughout human history: a combination of bad judgement and shite luck."

George shifts, propping himself up as he accepts the plate of food. His hands grip it, but for a moment, he doesn’t move. He stares down at the offering, then his gaze lifts, meeting Leon’s. ‘Why are you doing this?’

Leon looks into George’s eyes – already looking a little better, shining a little brighter. He releases the plate of food into George’s hands, folding his own in his lap. ‘Honestly? I’m not sure,’ he admits.

George doesn’t let it go, his tone thoughtful. ‘I know you’d do anything for anyone. It’s just… why me?’
