My headcanons for minecraft as a whole is that it wasnβt actually written in Java originally but a leaked esoteric programming language called WorldCurve+ and slowly ported over to java and this is a very secret fact since WorldCurve+ became something that got outlawed and banned/erased from history by the United States shadow government in late 2009 because it was found to have various anomalous effects. As for Herobrine, within the world of minecraft, theyβre an entity kinda a ghost but more physical but not like in the normal sense, but like a NazgΓ»l almost. and heβs actually Steveβs great grandfather in a sense, because he was created by leaving in a sort of prototype framework that lays out a very loose set of core guidelines for players in minecraft in the gameβs code between many different versions in the early unconverted WC+ builds; sort of like leaving a man-shaped depression in the ground and then waiting until it rains. Herobrine is just a puddle of stray electrons and bits from the universe shaped crudely into the profile of a player but completely freed from physical limitations. and when cave game and java minecraft became a thing Herobrine jumped along over for the ride. And ever since this has happened Herobrine has been trying to communicate with Steve to tell him about the past and figure out what his place in the world is but due to the nature of the game itself itβs very hard to get the player, aka the real Steve, to talk with him because Steve doesnβt really develop a true machine-spirit until much later.

Shovels should apply blindness for ten seconds if you smack someone in the back of the head with them. Hoes should do more damage if you hit someoneβs limbs or the side of their body. Axes should be able to be thrown like tomahawks and swords should get a leap back/to side/forward thing as an alternative βattackβ.

minecraft but the world is slowly and noticeably decaying until you kill the ender dragon. hot winds blowing leaves off of trees and mountains being eroded. Lots of land slides and earthquakes as caves and hollow areas randomly collapsing inwards. most blocks exposed to air breaking down to cobblestone and then gravel before blowing away to form dust clouds. icebergs melting but also traveling in the ocean and slamming against shorelines. grass turning to grass path and then coarse dirt. a large percentage of planted crops failing to grow even in good conditions. animals becoming hostile and attacking you and each other. lava tubes underground growing and spreading organically turning the stone around them to magma blocks.
Imagine a minecraft world where the hero is unwilling to kill the dragon and all these effects have had the full time to take effect. There is no more bedrock, just crying obsidian. There is no more strong stone or fine sands. no more mountains or lands. no more wildlife. just a smooth flatland of jagged magma and loose gravel beneath a hot sea of boiling water. The air is filled with malicious clouds of ash and gritty dust, billowing and blowing strongly from every direction. The only thing from the past that remains, a large unnatural octahedron of basalt, continually being withered away on the outside and replaced by automatic redstone machinery. The final outpost. A home. A prison. A tomb.

Sculk affliction which turns the affected skin midnight blue, flecked through with little flowery glowing cyan specks underneath. Symptoms include increased hearing and sensitivity to sound, tinnitus, increased sense of smell, stronger arm and leg muscles, greater resistance to both hot and cold temperatures, the strong psychological urge to want to scream but not being able to bring oneself to (in most cases), and fluctuating periods of either heavily blurred or increased vision in low light conditions.
Minecraft scientists studying this disease along with sculk itself, warden flesh, and warped mushrooms and finding out one of the key chemical components thatβs related to all of them but it turns out to be some compound that on its own basically functions the same as a new type of hormone/epigenetic affective compound, dubbed Xenolyst-01 or X1 for short.
Causes many effects like actually being infected with sculk but without the drawbacks. Increases bone strength and skin elasticity/smoothness. Lengthens lifespan and over long periods of use, oneβs limbs. Makes perception of light and dark greatly intensify and completely change, with mild hallucination-like effects that start to eventually effect oneβs mind as well, usually starting with how one thinks about and uses language. As it is a new discovery nobody is sure what taking it over a lifelong period will do.
