I was thinking today that I've never actually posted any of my fics on here, so I went, "Let's just post ALL of them."

This post will be updated as things go on AO3. I'll have some general mentions of what they're about, but please heed the tags and summary on AO3 for more details. I will also only put links for new stuff written in the last 2 years. You can read my cringe if you want, but no promises lol. Updated 11/26/24

Hi, DBH Fandom, and welcome to the 2025 Round of the Detroit: Become Human Big Bang!

Today we’re announcing the 2025 round, its exciting co-round Die Hard challenge, some new folks to drag, and a partially-new set of rules that we hope will help clarify, encourage, and enthuse participants for this round.

What’s Going On in 2025?

  • We aren’t just running another round of the Big Bang. We’re introducing an extreme option: A Mega Bang we’re calling RK50K, where writers can team up to write 50,000 words with artists who want to make three or more artworks for the same concept. We had a bunch of overachievers last round, and we’re excited to see what we get in 2025!
  • That being said, for those of us who are less prolific, limited by schedule, or not infected by cordyceps, the Standard Bang remains open with the same requirements as always: 10,000 words, and one quality art.
  • Participants this year can sign up for three teams total: two fic and one art, or one fic and two art. There are details about picking up extra projects in the rules!
  • We are introducing the Bang Rules Etc. early this year because of some changes we’re implementing regarding previous rounds of the Bang Event and ongoing, unfinished works. Sign-ups don’t hit until March, but you can absolutely start writing now. 
  • Please take the time to read the rules document. Every year we have dozens of people asking questions we’ve already taken hours to clarify. We implore you. [Mr. Wolf voice] Pretty please. With a cherry on top. Read the rules. 

We would like to welcome our team of Mediators and Advisors!

  • Mediators are a second moderation tier that will help guide the Discord, step in when things are getting tense if mods aren’t around, and - since we’ve managed to adopt some artists - help shape the Bang’s direction as we evolve. Please enjoy a limited introduction to your new Mediators from Sev’s basement, where we’re keeping them trapped by murder dogs:
  • @aye-toast (Mediator), who was bullied into this 
  • @moonlitmilo (Mediator), who had a choice
  • @connor-sent-by-cyberlife (Advisor), who will be helping us out with a couple things once the round gets rolling!
  • We may be looking for additional assistance with a couple little things throughout the Bang, so if it’s something you’d like to get involved in, watch this space!

Girl That’s So Long

  • There actually isn’t a lot of new stuff! Most of the information here has been collated from the #bang-info channel in the Discord, and just put into one place where it’s searchable and more easily accessible by participants. And prettier!
  • The new parts - rules on check-ins, extensions, and drop-outs - were driven by the results of last year’s posting period, which (you might remember) was incredibly challenging, difficult, and time-consuming for the mods, as well as the exit poll. We did not want to need these rules, but based on last year, they’re necessary. They may evolve for future rounds, but that’s what we’re going with for now.
  • You don’t have to read it all now. You will be held to all rules upon sign-up, whether you’ve read them or not, but there are a lot of days until sign-ups.
  • The FAQ (last section in the doc) will continue to grow as we get questions.

seahorse dads (trans men who carry their babies) are absolutely wonderful and strong and deserve respect. non fetishy fictional depictions of this also deserves respect

so many queer people still treat this like its something weird, or it’s a fetish, and when u bring it up u get weird looks or “WHAAA MPREG!!??” type replies. shut the FUCK up!!!!

trans people like this exist in the world!!!! just because you think its weird (its not btw) and you think anything weird is automatically fetish material doesnt mean it actually is. LEAVE TRANS MEN THE FUCK ALONE!!!!!!!!!

babe. I know we’re all going thru a lot rn but I just wanna give u the heads up that sesame streets future is in jeopardy. hbo has chosen not to renew it for new episodes (a series that has been going since 1969) and the residents of 123 Sesame Street no longer have a home :(

n all seriousness sesame street is such an important piece of living media. it has been around for DECADES and from day 1 highlighted the importance of diversity empathy and education for children in a fun way. their mission statement is “Helping Kids Everywhere Grow Smarter, Stronger, and Kinder”. it’s been such an influence for so many people at a formative age. it’s creators made it w the intention that it could be a resource for underprivileged kids and help them prepare for kindergarten. thousands of people have learned english from our friends on sesame. pls (at media corporations) don’t let a beloved cultural phenomenon die

Hey, the ACLU is getting people to send letters to your Reps to have Congress pass the No Kings Act.

This act would make constitutional amendments to ensure that even sitting presidents are held liable for their actions. That NOBODY is above the law.

Their goal is 150k messages sent and at the time of writing this they're about 2.1k off from that goal!

ACLU gives you a prefilled message that you can edit to send to make the process easier, and will send it out for you.

Apologies for mass tagging people, but I wanted there to be a list of active DBH Fanfiction writers to make it easier to find each other on here! LINKS TO fanfic source and Tumblr are included!

I also would like readers to take note that EVERY WRITER that I post here will appreciate positive comments on their fic! Even if it's just a heart, emoji, "I enjoyed it", or "Second Kudos", it will MAKE THEIR DAY! Please comment on fics that you enjoyed no matter hold old they are!

Also stats such as Hits, Kudos, or the fact that I have read the fic is in no way a reflection of the quality of the fic, but I will be noting whether or not I've read their fic as a checklist for myself. I will put the writers in alphabetical order based on their Tumblr name for organizational purposes!

If it makes any of you feel better, Donald Trump will have an uphill battle to change the constitution. He will need:

-2/3 of Senators (60)

-2/3 of the House of Representatives (290)

-3/4 of the states (38)

In 2026, 33 senate seats will be up for grabs, and we’ll be able to vote for people who are against Trump and his ideals.

Breathe and remain hopeful because it’s not over. We can still fight and make Trump’s last four years hell.

This is so important. Also pay attention to local elections. Now more than ever it's important to have staunch anti Trump democrats at every level of government - from school boards to senate seats. Apathy and not voting helped Trump win. Now is the time to wake up and get serious and hold on to the freedoms we have left. We have got to fight for every inch of territory. Do not give up. Do not give him any more power than he already has.
