He feels broken and wrong because everybody around him is falling in love, and he just can't. He wants to fall in love, he really does. He just doesn't feel it. For someone who loves so much, why can't he do it in one more way?
He just feels so wrong, so if he can get into a bad relationship, have his partner fuck him up, maybe it'll give him a reason not to fall in love. If that person hurt him enough, that could be the reason he can't fall in love again. It gives him an excuse. It validates him not feeling romantic attraction, because that person fucked him up.

Autistic Remus who always felt like he was missing out anytime his friends went to a concert and he had to stay home, even though he wanted to go just as much as everyone else.
