Hey there friends! This post will be updated from time to time. I’m morkify, but I tend to go by Mork around here. This is my main blog, so it’s a bit of a mess, and I have given up on organizing it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have an art blog @arkify for all my art, which you can also find here under #ark art (used to be #my art). I reblog other peoples’ art (#not my art) and art from friends (#friend art) on this blog.

Was looking for a book today when I saw these various animal books all on the same shelf and noticed their titles made a nice little impromptu poem about veterinary medicine

Nobody has mentioned this but I am so glad you did! I’ve never heard of spine poetry and I love the concept. I found these titles at a used bookstore that stacks books pretty freely so I will most definitely be scanning the spines for poetry every time I go

I know a bunch of people are into this as a kink thing, but as a person who is really into survivalism, this is so cool.

googling shit like "why do i feel bad after hanging out with my friends" and all of the answers are either "you need better friends" (i don't; my friends are wonderful) or "your social battery is drained, you need to rest and regain your energy levels" (i don't; i've got tons of energy, it's just manifesting as over-the-top neurotic mania). why is this even happening. it's like some stupid toll i have to pay as a punishment for enjoying myself too much

I actually, genuinely think social event aftercare would fix me. I need someone to put me to bed and say "you were fun today and no one hated you"

this is also true of festivals, conventions, pride parades, concerts, and any situation where you have a lot of fun with other people!

Hi, ive followed you for years but this is my first time actually sending am ask- how did you first handle moving to a more restricted diet? My partner's long suspected gastroporesis has reached crisis point and we wanna do everything we can to avoid a PEG tub but going full FODMAP diet is pretty challenging as a cook so i was hoping you might have some tips as im aware youve been very limited in your safe foods for a long time now.

Does your partner have the support of a registered dietician? Because if not, that’s the first step to take in getting support for this kind of thing.

And if possible, go slow, starting the worst suspected offenders.

The goal should be to identify and eliminate trigger foods while losing as little nutritional value as possible—which is not what happened to me.

I got put on a restrictive diet cold turkey by a doctor who didn’t actually understand how MCAS works and I ended up substantially sicker because of it. This is where a registered dietitian who can guide you through the process would be helpful. If you can’t get the help of one, go slow and remove things one at a time to see how symptoms change. That’ll make adding foods back in easier later on.

There are also a ton of FODMAP friendly recipe books and websites out there now.

There’s a book in my kitchen called “The low FODMAP diet for beginners” which I can recommend was helpful when we started adding more foods back into my diet and needed a place to start.

That could be a good starting place for you too. I’m sure others can chime in with their favorite recipes as well if they’re feeling up to it.
