#a tiktok got me thinking about the show continuum#the tt was about replacement characters like seaver#and every time I think about seaver i'm just like WHAT HAPPENED THERE#years ago i was obsessed with this show called continuum#and it starred rachel nichols and i LOVED her in it#I was actually excited for seaver's character bc I was like I love rachel nichols so this will be great#and then I was.......... underwhelmed#I really think it was the writing#maybe the writers were just sidelined by the loss of jj and had to force through seaver and their hearts weren't in it?#idk because none of it worked even though rachel was definitely TRYING#I don't hate seaver like much of the fandom does but it's just such a missed opportunity#idk maybe seaver just needed to be a brunette lmao#I read an old interview with rachel nichols and she found out from a magazine article that she was fired from criminal minds#and she called thomas gibson to cry and he comforted her#and joe mantegna promised good things were ahead for her#and then she was booked on continuum right after and joe watched the first episode#and cheered her on and said he knew she had something good waiting for her#my thoughts about characters often get really wrapped up in my thoughts about actors and I already liked rachel nichols a lot so#yeah seaver wasn't the best but I just feel bad for how her character went down and how she was booted unceremoniously from the show#and seaver could have been great but y'know continuum was an amazing show so maybe it was all for the best#anyway I recommend the show continuum if you like time travel twisty dystopian shows that are anti corporation#rachel plays a fish out of water stuck in the past time travelling bad cop and she's a delight#continuum#continuum show
