hickey's and gibson's relationship makes me go insane.. because as a viewer, u think you understand it, you think you see it for what it is. you think you know what you'll get; a petite morally gray gay man seducing a seaman. but then you realise gibson was the one to initiate their relationship, and you see him being the one to throw hickey in front of the bus to save himself. hickey's heart is broken, and you watch everything unravel.

they were friends-with-benefits and/or lovers where there were feelings involved, at least from hickey's side, and then it's like i hate you, i love you, you betrayed me, i have never been this tender and loving to anyone, you mean nothing to me, i'm lying by the way, i'll put a ring on your finger and call you my wife. we're all dying, so i'm giving you the easy way out.

how am i supposed to be normal about them???????

I haven’t done anything for 4 hours but watch whatever cartoon loads up next so anyways there’s a whole episode of american dad bout klaus the fish dating an ancient malevolent wraith

alright so he was super in love with her but he found out she’s just bound to whoever holds this cursed artifact he bought and therefore she never had any agency in their relationship, which he didn’t know because all she could do is shriek and he was inferring whatever he wanted to hear. He shatters the item to set her free and she tries to kill everyone but now that he can talk to her for real he finds out what she’s really into is baseball trivia so they go on a baseball road trip as platonic friends and that’s how the episode ends

Apparently they’re still making American Dad but they just decided to get like really weird with it. Like it’s just whatever the fuck now. If anyone actually still watches this show in Current Year please fill us in.

OP here and these are some events from the last three episodes I saw here in 2025:

  • Demons challenge the family to “a Space Jam” but they can’t get the looney tunes characters without getting sued, so they play dressed as public domain 1930s comic strip characters.
  • Francine accidentally kills a hotel manager who was spying on her, only to take his place and become addicted to voyeurism because the hotel is actually a metaphysical psychic entity nourished by the act of peeping.
  • Francine takes an interest in gardening and ends up turning earthworms into graboids.

CONCERNING NEWS. So this show began as a clone of the cancelled Family Guy, right, before Family Guy came back anyway and Fox cancelled this one. Then TBS bought it and it got progressively weirder and funnier under different writers who were basically like “we inherited a family guy clone that fox didnt want, we may as well go nuts with it until we inevitably get cancelled”

This went on for 11 years of it proving surprisingly successful, but now it has ended its deal with TBS and FOX has bought *back* the rights.

No word if the same writers will get to continue or Fox will just want to morph it back into a Family Guy clone, so I guess it’s currently Schrodinger’s Family Guy Clone until further notice. A crewmember once told me a lot of them read my pokemon reviews years back, if any of you guys are still lurking I hope you get to keep your jobs or you’re already lined up with good ones!

Anonymous asked:

In Horrible From Supper, Francis closes a locker with the initials E.C carved into them as he leaves Terror. Some people I have come across speculate that it is Hickey's real initials as some proof that he was there. I went back to look because I thought it might have been F.C which would have been touching, but of course it is very clearly E.C. There is obvious significance but if it is not Hickey, I can't figure out who else it might be.

It’s confirmed that they are in fact “Hickey’s” real initials! Adam Nagaitis explains how it came about a little in this IndieWire interview:

To help navigate the psychological maze that this character represents, there was one key piece of the Hickey impostor’s backstory that was Nagaitis’ to figure out for himself: the character’s real name.
“They let me do it. They let me go off and write the history and say, ‘This is his name.’ And then they allowed me to engrave it into Hickey’s cupboard, the cubby hole that you see being closed in Episode 7. When Crozier sees ‘E.C.’ in the abandoned ship, he doesn’t know who’s written it because there’s nobody on board that has those initials,” Nagaitis said. “That’s the only clue that we ever give in the whole thing who this person might be. It’s Hickey’s little gift to the world, to say, ‘I was actually here.‘”

I imagine the carving of initials is also a callback to Hickey’s knife (belonging to the Hickey in real life and the impostor Hickey in the show), which had the initials C.H carved into it

I've been wanting to do a full-crew Endurance illustration for a long time, and finally the gang's all here! 28 men, dogs and cat all accounted for, with every crew member referencing either a photo of them or a story about them. It's a little over two years since I first read Lansing's Endurance and I couldn't be happier to still be researching and drawing these guys :)
