It has come to my attention that some of you have not actually seen the music video for Ghengis Khan by Miike Snow so I've taken it on myself to end your ignorance of this piece of cinema

Look, I may not be an explorer or an adventurer or a treasure seeker or a gunfighter, Mr. O'Connell.

To truly, successfully eroticize the monstrous you must be brave enough to make the object in question actually ugly. At the heart of the fantasy is a person whose very form is so profoundly unacceptable that there is significant social stigma attendant upon finding them attractive - a person who feels deeply their own repulsiveness, who expects universal rejection for their appearance - and, crucially, another person who treats them as if they are beautiful.
For this to be effective, the monstrous character can't just be plain - they have to be wildly, fascinatingly unacceptable - prodigiously, fantastically, sublimely ugly. If you're anxious about the character not being hot you'll never pull it off because the entire fantasy is about not being afraid.
catfished by a guy who said he was something unutterably monstrous in his bio then turned out to be yet another normal muscle twink with some mildly unsettling features again?
I thought he was the one. 😔
Miss Piggy’s Treasury of Art Masterpieces from the Kermitage Collection is a picture book featuring sixteen (minus the “The Birth of Venus” parody) different muppet parodies of famous artwork, edited by Henry Beard and illustrated by John E. Barrett, and published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston in 1984.
A majority of the illustrations were originally from the Miss Piggy’s Art Masterpiece Calendar which were all reprinted with commentary from Miss Piggy herself and new additions that expanded on the “Kermitage Collection” from the calendar.
illustrations continued:
Henri Rousseau. The Sleepy Zootsy.
Rembrant van Rijn. Arisfroggle Contemplating the Bust of a Twerp.
Jan Vermeer. Young Lady Adorning Herself with Pearls (and Why Not?).
Grant Wood. American Gothique.
Pablo Picasso. Pig Before a Mirror.

people who don’t wear glasses will never understand the absolute humiliation of dropping your glasses under your bed or in a dark area and feeling around on all fours muttering “my glasses…. where are my glasses” like fucking Velma Dinkley and thinking to yourself BOY WOULD THIS BE A LOT EASIER IF I COUKD FUCKING SEE
during transitory periods of your life you may hit a 'this isn't even worth it, i'm already exhausted out of my mind from the effort of bringing this about, and losing any comforts i may have had in my life before - is it even going to be better for all of this?'. that's the hater PRINCE DIOS speaking and you have to run him over with a car
*with a dark and evil aura surrounding me* I'm shy
Watching the mummy 1999 for shits and giggles, thought it'd be fun to bitch abt the inaccurate hieroglyphs now that I know smth abt all that. Disappointed and disgusted to find out that they hired an egyptologist consultant and the hieroglyphs are actually well done. Night ruined
