I wish I had gotten the theme in Acetate Ribbon more clear that was Jax and Gangle can only be happy together when on equal footing but instead of Jax getting better, Gangle drops down to his level. As much as it is a revenge story that has it's cake and eats it too, I also wish I made the whole Jax likes to see and encourage self-impulsiveness in Gangle because it's satisfying to him to see someone like Gangle of all people do that and be just like him more clear.
Anyways I'm writing cookie x reader fiction now.

I'm always thinking about the phenomenon among fans where they'll be so afraid of being problematic they end up having even worse takes about things like gender expression, sexuality, disabilities, race and just like the human form in general. Back when She-ra was coming out I saw fans saying things like "you can't ship Entrapta with any of the main cast because they're all teenagers and she's in her 30s, but because she's confirmed autistic and is therefore ""too mentally young"" to be paired with anybody her age, so it's probably best to just not ship her at all." Like people were so afraid of being accidentally problematic they looped right back around to being ableist. Once saw someone say "if you're attracted to flat chests or small breasts you're a disgusting creep," like do you not know women with flat chests just exist in real life. Women who have had mastectomies, women who had breast reduction surgery for whatever reason, trans women who haven't full transitioned or just prefer their chest size as is, women who just, naturally have flat chests. Women who just come in all shapes and sizes with or without breasts. So afraid of being problematic you looped right back around to the value of attraction on what is deemed acceptable by heteronormative standards and expressed misogyny. Another crazy take I see is "if you're attracted to a short character / person you're sus," like??? short people??? exist??? People with dwarfism exist, some genetics just make you shorter than average. Not to mention shortness is often subjected as the average height is different in every region and country. You have once again looped back around to being ableist, racist and what is deemed "attractable" by capitalistic heteronormative standards.
Just really odd to see people care about the problematics of like, shipping or just liking cartoon characters to the point that the comments they make to fight each other over it is just the stuff we have been trying to unlearn and improve in our real life societies for decades. Imagine relearning ableism, misogyny, and racist views for what? The fear of hurting a cartoon character? Being seen as weird?
#yeah so maybe as a nearing 30 autistic flat chested afab under 5ft it hits more personally#but imagine like being so scared of being weird about a cartoon character you make comments that hurt actual people who actually exist#do you know how awful it feels to see someone basically say ''no one will ever think you're attractive and if they do#its because they're a dirty dirty creep who is projecting something else on you always''#these aren't even comments ive gotten just within fandom contexts but just like being raised as a petite woman#but it just extra sucks to see it be said within the context of CARTOON characters where it really shouldn't matter#its a cartoon character#ranting and raving

I have a few headcanons for Jax, but I think he'd try to keep any personal or remotely intimate relationships secret from the rest of the gang. Especially from Caine.
The sarcastic facade he puts on is all just for show, and he lets his guard down whenever he's in the safety of his partner's room. It just gives him the safety and security he needs to let the walls he's built around him crumble.
Especially after Kaufmo abstracts, he's a bit more apprehensive to think about being just the tiniest bit affectionate, though there has been the occasional time where he nor his partner show up for the theme song, and it leads to everyone thinking they've abstracted or have gone missing somehow when they've just slept in a little too long.
(This also just ties into the fact that I ship him and Gangle. Just a little bit)

Oh goodness I can just imagine Jax being so bratty about it too, just not wanting to go out simply because he needs a moment to physically reassure himself that people he cares about (Gangle in this case) are okay, that they're still here, that nothing's gonna get them!
(I ship him and Gangle too! Though to be fair I think the whole damn digital circus is one big giant poly at this point)
