Sorry, can't hear you over the sound of Kitay loving Rin to the point of invention.

Me Starting Alchemy of Souls: What a fun silly show to start on a Saturday morning. I'm having a good time!

Me finishing part one: Emotionally devastated actually! What do you mean Naksu went through so much growth, chose to give up power, to free herself, found love, only to be turned back into a weapon against her will by the man who lied to her and manipulated her her whole life!? What do you mean she goes out like her father!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?

Now I'm supposed to watch Jang Uk fall in love with somebody else! I'm not having a good time anymore!

You don't need to worry.... He IS going to fall in love, but NOT with someone else.

I think about the little montage of Kitay and Rin's day out everytime the happenings of the rest of the series comes to mind

i just finished the poppy war trilogy and the thing that just made me sick was that every last speer died on their island. henelai, atlan, rin, all of them. every single one. no matter they made it alive scrambling to the shores or not. they all ended up dead. on the island of speer.

thinking about how nezha laments “oh. but history moves in such cruel circles” right before stabbing rin in the back at the end of the dragon republic and she later answers with “oh, but history moved in such vicious circles” before forcing nezha to stab her in the heart at the end of the burning god

Something about Nezha saving Rin during the attack on Sinegard and then saving her again in the grotto, both times when she was certain he hated her and was willing to let her die. Him refusing to kill her when they were on opposite sides of a war, despite having numerous opportunities to, facing pressure from most of the country to, and being the only person with the capability to. But in the end Nezha being forced to hold the knife that she kills herself with, because the only force he couldn’t save her from was herself.

Reminder that Nezha has to live with the fact that the three people he loved most in the world are dead, and they died by killing each other after years of fighting him.

And now he rules an entire empire…alone.

To me, Nezha will always have the saddest ending.

rin and chaghan are such an underrated duo. they’re so funny and they have the whole altan thing going on but when qara died and chaghan said “rin… what am i going to do?” i broke. “they were so similar when she thought about it. too young to be so powerful, not close to ready for the positions they had been thrust into”
