I know in my heart that dr. jack abbot had a Tasmanian devil tattoo on the calf he doesn't have anymore and likes to tell people the ied did him a favor
generally you shouldn't write run-on sentences because they get confusing and it doesn't give the reader a break. that doesn't apply to me though my run-on sentences are fun and understandable and they have a rhythm to it that makes you want to keep reading
11. What scene are you most hyped for this chapter/fic?
i haven't written any of the sex scenes yet, and I think that will be fun! but also there's a scene where robby, mohan and abbot are all working christmas day in the ED (on account of lapsed judaism, swapped shifts with mckay and doesn't celebrate anyway, and idk just look at his whole thing and tell me that man wouldn't work christmas) that I think will be very fun to write if I can get the exact tone of the dialogue down - here is a deeply unedited preview:
-
She works a double over Christmas, switches shifts with McKay, who gives her one of those concerned, searching looks, but accepts the offer since Harrison was with his dad (now unfortunately mostly healed) over Thanksgiving. Samira has to remind her she doesn’t actually celebrate Christmas to get her to stop.
Robby and Abbot are the attendings on shift, which makes sense, between Robby’s lackadaisical Judaism and Abbot’s whole thing. “Joining the pagans at work today?” Abbot asks when she joins them at Central at 7 am.
“That’s just you,” Robby tells him, his hand wrapping unconsciously around the chain around his neck.

"i could fix him" please don't it took a lot of work to fuck him up this bad
most unrealistic part of the Pitt is that all of the women’s hair looks great. Dr Mel what on earth do you use to keep your hair silky smooth during a 15 hour shift?
ok as someone who has bullied most of the curl and texture out of my hair the answer is probably a good hair oil (kerastase is my fav but bumble & bumble is a classic for a reason) + heat to set it. i also like the dry bar liquid glass hair stuff and there are some good r&co products. basically you gotta use silicones and then periodically use a clarifying shampoo. but the blow dry/heat is the most important part for getting it smooth! my stylist told me it does something to the cuticle and i trust him because when i just oil my hair but dont effectively blow dry it, it’s soft but the coarseness is back.
i also use more expensive hair treatments and make up the price difference with shampoo/conditioner from target idk but it works for me
ETA: alternately, keratin treatments
↳ GABE LANDESKOG GETS A PENALTY IN HIS FIRST PERIOD BACK FROM INJURY | 4.11.25
This was the fucking funniest thing. The in-arena host decided to call out a tribute to landy mid 1st period and the entire arena standing up to applaud him and there he is squatted on a stool in the box for the eagles first penalty like a beautiful prince appearing in a heavenly dream
perhaps i am extrapolating too hard from my own experiences in the workplace but one thing i really like is how (intentionally or unintentionally, no idea if there’s been an interview about this) they portray mentorship—robby is a feminist, but as a mentor he is a bit of a benevolent misogynist; the way he treats women is different than the way he treats men even if it’s not necessarily on purpose (plus, yes he is having a top 10 ever bad day at work). but some of the senior women are hardasses because they’ve had to be to get to that point and have that success. but is it fun/not stressful to work with them as their junior? absolutely not. it’s a very interesting and genuine-feeling dynamic and i do think it’s part of why the characters are so great and feel real and i think it’s a dynamic that happens in a lot of fields. like spoiler alert it is still the patriarchy.
Anyway if you see this you have to reblog and tag with a delight from ur day -- even the littlest thing counts
