honestly thinking about genloss & the founder in relation to art and infinity is super interesting. the whole idea of "generation loss" is the degradation of data over time, but for as long as youtube keeps the video up, as long as somebody owns the vhs tape or a mp4 of the series, gl!ranboo will be nineteen and dying and perfect forever. eternally. but at the same time, as a piece of art, the people who made it no longer have control over it. people interpret it, remodel it in their mind. the art exists forever but its meaning constantly changes as new people observe it, add new context to it. what the art records might be trapped in pixels forever, but its meaning is alive and running wild and free. no matter how much you try to preserve something statically, part of it will always be dynamic and everchanging for as long as the piece lives.

do you guys think there was a tiny part of ranboo during the second episode who still held hatred for the demon persona, and thus, Charlie? do you guys think there was a small part of ranboo who despite everything still wanted revenge. Ranboo was never an angel, never a baby boy, never innocent. Who’s to say a tiny, tiny part of them wasn’t wanting revenge still. of course he still cares for Charlie greatly! goes without saying! but while the axe forgot, the tree still distantly remembers.

it’s a sort of unwilling grudge. sure, Charlie didn’t know what he was doing, and it was still forced! but think about it from Ranboo’s perspective. if you were suddenly shoved into a cabin with no memory of how you got there and had to face an hostile demon who treated this all like a game, wouldn’t you hold a grudge too? even if you really didn’t want to? you aren’t morally in the right, but.. it’s not like you’re unreasonable for it.

sure, holding grudges is bad, getting revenge is bad. but didn’t he cause you pain too? you’re just returning the favor. even if it’s overkill, you’re still returning the favor. when does revenge become overkill? Ranboo wouldn’t know. Ranboo’s been through hell and doesn’t remember or register what theyre really doing. They don’t know when men become monsters.

All they know is to be the hero. To beat the villain.

Can I just say the fact that in the founders cut they fucking confirmed that they were cooking with (probably human) organs and shit is so cool and overlooked. THE ILLUSTRATIONS GO CRAZY YET THEY APPEAR FOR MAYBE 0.5 SECONDS AT MOST

It's been my personal headcanon for a while that they used the leftover parts from the employees, those guys are all wires at this point
