My Mortal Kombat Blog

@overlordzeffeero

Literally the blog name. Hope you enjoy reading my ideas.

Introduction post

Hello there, fellow human beings. Here's an introduction post for anyone who will arrive to this blog.

The purpose of this blog is quite simple: showcase people my takes in the MK Universe for a fanfic I am developing, which for now has the title Mortal Kombat: Alliances. I will be publishing bios, designs, intro dialogues, perhaps short stories, etc.

This was initially fully dedicated to showcasing information about my Mortal Kombat OCs, but I have decided to turn it into my blog dedicated to Mortal Kombat in general, so you can expect my takes on canon/official characters in the future.

Feel free to comment whatever you wish if you read anything! Feedback would be especially appreciated :)

Other blogs

My main blog dedicated to interacting with other users is @apepthehero

I also have a blog dedicated to a much more different MK AU, no less than a full Mirror Universe of Mortal Kombat. You may read information about it in @mortalkombartwistedreflectionau

And, while I don't use it that much, here is another blog I have dedicated to some research I have made about some obscure material of this franchise, I think one could find it interesting: @foma2000info

Hotaru Bio

Commander Hotaru, leader of the Seidan Guard, recognized as the greatest enforcer of order through the whole realm in equal parts by those who admire him, those who fear him, and those who despise him.

To the surprise of many, Hotaru had been a Seidan citizen like any other once. He came from a family of regular citizens, and received the same education as any other: a strict one, based on making sure he understood the importance of order from an early age. How he had to respect every decision of the Court and the laws with no question, how chaos and its followers were a constant danger which may threaten their way of life at any moment, how the heroic efforts of the Seidan Guard were what would always protect them from that danger.ย

Hotaru was a dedicated person. He put all his effort into becoming the ideal Seidan citizen his family, teachers and all others around him wished everyone to be. He also developed a deep admiration for the Seidan Guard, which led him to enlist in their ranks eventually.

Being part of the Seidan Guard was easy. It required absolute loyalty and dedication to the cause, and even the slightest moment of doubt risking expulsion. Hotaru adapted comfortably to it. He had no doubts about the Seidan Guardโ€™s ideals and grew to be an excellent fighter during his training, which made his superiors put him in high regard. Hotaru was already considered an admirable soldier in his younger years, but it was a particular event that made him as known (for the better or worse) as he is today.

Many years ago, the former leader of the Seidan Guard, Commander Pod Lazek, took the ambitious initiative of bringing order to Chaosrealm, considered the most dangerous realm all through Seido. His campaign lasted for a long time. He conquered territories to impose Seidoโ€™s order in them, even built a prison which once held countless Chaosrealmers. For some time, it seemed like Pod Lazek would eventually complete his missionโ€ฆ until he unexpectedly changed sides and became a follower of Chaos. No details have ever been found about Seidoโ€™s authorities about how it happened, all that is known is that the most known cleric of Chaos, Havik, had something to do with his conversion. Whatever happened, it resulted in Pod Lazek releasing all the Chaosrealmers he had captured, to then, ironically enough, lead them in an invasion against his home realm.

A catastrophic conflict started through all Seido, possibly the greatest confrontation the realms of Order and Chaos have had until today. A younger Hotaru was part of it. He was present in many battles, most of which had very few survivors. It was something bigger than anything he had faced in his entire life. Pod Lazekโ€™s hordes of Chaosrealmers were managing to spread chaos and destruction through all Seido, his friends and comrades in the Seidan Guard were perishing in mass. Hotaru was scared like he had never been, believing that his whole society and way of life were in danger. That fear was in part what gave him enough motivation to keep going on.

In a last decisive battle, Pod Lazek tried to destroy the Seidan Court itself, and all the Seidan soldiers were called to defend it. The battle caused a great amount of casualties on both sides, with very few managing to keep standing. Hotaru was among those, managing to get through all the Chaosrealmers on his way to face Pod Lazek himself. To the surprise of many, he managed to slay the traitor after a difficult fight.

It was only natural for Hotaru to be applauded as a hero in Seido for his feat. The Court members themselves had no words due to how impressed they were, and decided not to waste the potential of such a good enforcer of their regime. From that moment on, Hotaru was allowed to easily scale in the ranks of the Seidan Guard until becoming its greatest authority figure.

But the praises and rewards were far from Hotaruโ€™s main interests. The insanely dangerous threat he had needed to face and the losses the conflict cost had affected him, giving him even more motivation to enforce order. He had come to believe that any form of chaos, anything which defied the ways of Seido, would inevitably lead to devastating events like the one he had barely been able to survive. As such, he would use his new given authority to do whatever he saw necessary to impose order through all his realm.

The greatest agent of the Seidan regime, all those who defy it, such as the Seidan Resistance and the Chaosrealmers, have Hotaru as their sworn enemy.

And here's another guy I am glad I could come with a more detailed backstory for! ๐Ÿฅณ

Pod Lazek is a character mentioned in Deception Konquest, you can find more information about him here. As you can see in the link, the popular theory about him is that he is actually Havik, but since I prefer to have Havik be a Chaosrealm native, here he's just the one who turned Pod Lazek to the side of Chaos, somehow. This last idea is from my friend @cdr2002 so I give all credit to him! ๐Ÿค—

Shylae Bio

Bio complimented by Kreeya's and Karia's.

Another Kreeyan created by the late Queen Kreeya. Like most of their sisters, Shylae was taught since their creation to obey their mother and fulfill the design she had prepared for them all. They were meant to be a servant and soldier of the great Queen Kreeya for the rest of their existence.

Shylae initially adapted very well to the purpose they had been given, growing to become quite an excellent warrior. They bonded especially with one of their sisters, Karia, training and fighting alongside her most of the time. Both of them made for a great team, and itโ€™s sure to say Shylae greatly misses being alongside Karia nowadays.

When Kreeya tried to take her first step to build the glorious Empire of all realms she fantasized with by declaring Mortal Kombat against an Outworld weakened by the failed first invasion of Edenia, Shylae and the rest of the Kreeyans did what they had been taught to do all their life, following her orders with no questionโ€ฆ at least until she revealed her true colors to them. Their mother had always been strict, demanding and unforgiving, but once the Elder Gods stopped limiting her, she started to apply more severe methods for failure. Death threats and cruel punishments for failure became common. It was Kreeyaโ€™s way of โ€˜discipliningโ€™ them.ย

Shylae themselves was victim of it from time to time, especially since they dared to confront their mother sometimes, frustrated by how they saw their sisters suffering around them. One time in particular, after Outworldโ€™s invasion of Fabir started due to them losing ten tournaments, Shylae was pretty sure Kreeya would have killed them during one of those confrontations, had it not been for Karia stepping in to defend them. Needless to say, these events made them hate their mother deeply, enough for siding with Karia when she decided to betray her and made a deal with General Reiko to ensure the Kreeyans a good place in Outworldโ€™s Empire.

Shylae and their sisters now had to adapt to living in a new realm, with the purpose they had been imposed from creation gone. This had made many of them feel empty, directionless, a feeling which was especially strong in Shylae. They would start a journey of self-discovery from that moment on while living in Outworld.

First of all, they were able to learn more about the concept of gender. It was a concept they had known of, but had never been able to learn much of. Now living in a realm with all kinds of people, they were able to learn everything about it, which allowed them to discover what they really were. They werenโ€™t actually a woman, nor a man, but something different. They are really glad they could figure that out.

And then, there was the question of their new purpose. Initially, Shylae tried to follow Karia in serving the Kahn Guard, since they wished to always be alongside their sister, but they couldnโ€™t take it for long. Being part of it reminded Shylae of their previous life. After all, they were in the same exact situation, serving a cruel tyrant fulfilling his megalomaniac dreams. They wouldnโ€™t go through that, not again. They decided to go back to serving as a soldier of Fabir which, while wouldnโ€™t prevent them from taking part in Outworldโ€™s conquests (since no one under Shao Kahnโ€™s rule had a choice), at least would allow them to be less directly involved in them.ย

Shylae told Karia of their decision, and also tried to make Karia follow them, telling her of their feelings and how they thought she was just repeating a cycle. While Karia respected their decision, she refused to change her mind. She would keep clinging to the chance of fulfilling something similar to the purpose she was created for, to fight for the creation of a glorious, unbeatable Empire through all realms. That was what made them inevitably grow apart.

For centuries, Shylae would have to keep serving Outworldโ€™s Empire alongside their sisters, growing frustrated over it but being powerless to do anything. That was until they heard about the wallen city of Lei Chen being declared Seidan territory, with anyone under Shao Kahnโ€™s reign being forbidden from entering the city. The Emperor of Outworld didnโ€™t wish to get in conflict with Seido yet, and thus allowed them to keep their control over the city for the time being. Shylae saw a chance to escape Outworldโ€™s Empire right there.

They offered some of their sisters a chance to follow them, but they all refused, either fearing the possible consequences or simply not wishing to get away from what was, with all its flaws, their new home in Outworld. They understood all of them, but still had no doubt about their own decision.

Shylae ran away from their territory and established themselves in Lei Chen, something which was possible thanks to the Seidans welcoming outsiders as far as they compromised to familiarize themselves with their laws and respect them. Given how strict Seidan laws are, it has been hard to follow them for Shylae, but they have found it worth adapting after many years. While her new home is still far from perfect, for the first time in their life they can be a simple citizen with a quiet life instead of a warrior, and thatโ€™s what really matters to them.

Shylae has currently found her favored profession as a botanist, quite appreciated by Lei Chenโ€™s gardeners for their knowledge of magic capable of making plants grow in ideal conditions. This is the profession they discovered suited them after being able to enjoy a calm life, which fills them with joy.

Despite their current life, Shylae is no fool. They remember where they live, a realm whose ruler constantly seeks conflict, with most of their sisters still involved in it to their worry. They know they may inevitably have to get themselves involved in conflict sooner or later, and they are ready for it, even if just keeping a shield from their old days in the Kreeyan army in case they need it for self-defense. They just pray for the day in which that must happen to be delayed as much as it can, to keep enjoying the peaceful life they enjoy so much for as long as they canโ€ฆ

And here's my most recent OC, hopefully a good addition to my Kreeyan cast! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Their original colors were given after the non-binary flag, which I ended up changing feeling it may be too 'on the nose' (?) A friend has told me I was being silly about that and that they looked good with purple, but I like them also with red, so have both! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

Mavado Bio

Born to two members of the Red Dragon clan, Cruella and Maquiavelo. Mavado was given what the clan considered an ideal childhood, being prepared to be a loyal and effective agent of the clan by his parents and the clanโ€™s trainers. He proved to have impressive skills when he grew up, managing to rise in ranks and even catch the attention of Lord Daegon himself.

Mavadoโ€™s father died when he was still young, killed in one of the rare instances in which the Black Dragon clan managed to get a victory over the Red Dragon clan in a confrontation. This left Mavado and his mother angered and frustrated, incapable of believing they had lost one of their loved ones to that clan of indisciplined, treacherous bastards. Daegon was able to notice the hard moment Mavadoโ€™s was going through, and he understood it. The circumstances may have been extremely different, but he had also lost his family. He decided to go and speak with him, in one of the very rare occasions in which the leader of the Red Dragon clan left his professionalism and coldness behind and opened himself emotionally.

Daegon told Mavado that he knew what he was feeling, and also confessed to him that he saw the Red Dragon as a new family, and that he hoped Mavado would eventually see it like that too. He even told Mavado they could speak at any time if it helped him. Both Mavado and his mother, who had also been trying to comfort her son as best as she could, were deeply thankful for how their leader had taken part of his time to help him, which only made them more loyal.

Mavado started dedicating himself to the clan even more, eventually growing to see the whole clan as his family like Daegon had suggested. His skills and dedication also earned quite a privileged place as the second in command of the entire clan, much to the pride of both Cruella and Daegon. With this rise in authority, Mavado wasted no time to dedicate more resources of the clan in a personal mission: the complete extermination of the Black Dragon.

Daegon has noticed Mavadoโ€™s initiative, while partly motivated to get the Red Dragon rid of the nuisance which is that group of traitors, is also greatly motivated by his personal desire for the revenge, which is usually considered too unprofessional for a member of the clan. But Daegon, who has grown to see Mavado as a little brother (and is definitely closer to him than with any of his blood brothers), simply turns a blind eye and lets him continue while he keeps serving the clan effectively despite his personal mission.

Mavado is currently a quite feared name among Black Dragon members due to how many of them he has killed, usually in painful ways. Heโ€™s been given the nickname of โ€˜The Black Dragonโ€™s Boogeymanโ€™ to add some humor to that fact, but every Black Dragon still knows that if they actually see him they must run away for their lives. You can be sure Mavado enjoys how much those worthless criminals fear him, itโ€™s actually one of his favourite things.

Dutiful, professional, dedicated and a snarky bastard. Mavado is a nightmare to every enemy of the Red Dragon clan.

Also biblically (more) accurate:

And here we have my first take in a playable character, and I am very glad it was Mavado! ๐Ÿฅณ

Yay, thank you! ๐Ÿฅณ

Alright, this time I choose Cruella

๐Ÿ• - What is their favorite food

Potato omelette. One of my favourites, so I just couldn't resist to make it the favourite food of an spanish character ๐Ÿ˜‹

๐ŸฅŠ -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?

She is a professional old lady who loves her work, so what she enjoys the most is working alongside her fellow Red Dragon members and fulfilling missions for the clan. Also spending time with Mavado during those, because they gotta build lovely mother-son moments such as killing and torturing Black Dragon members together ๐Ÿ˜„

What she hates to do is spending time in any way or form with someone she finds annoying. You can be sure things like interrogating Black Dragons is a bit of pain for her, 'cause she has to listen to those worthless criminals with no purpose in life until they give the information she wants ๐Ÿ˜’

๐Ÿง  - What do you like most about the OC?

A few things:

1 - She's probably one of my funniest OCs. She's Mavado's mom, who is called like the 101 dalmatians' villain, she has to be. I also have fun speaking with my friends about her, we have joked about stuff like how now I could write a fight between her and MK11 intros Kabal's mom (maybe, maybe).

2 - I like getting to use my country's history for a character, of course ๐Ÿ˜Š

3 - I like having a character that is a Red Dragon veteran, and I think that through her story I have given some details about how the Red Dragon works. Like how they sell their propaganda to people (Cruella herself), and how someone can be indoctrinated into their ranks (Mavado). Is something I would like to explore more in the future when I get to write the actual story, but it's a start, and I am glad for that.

Six Sentences Whatever

Thanks for the tag, @overlordzeffeero! I've never done one of these before, but I liked the idea!๐Ÿ’•

These are the first six sentences of chapter 3 of my Adventures of the Umgadi Girls fic, aka Jade's introduction chapter!

I am Lady Jadesmin IV, future countess of the Edenian House of Joya, but you can just call me Jade. Please, do call me Jade! My mother, Countess Jadesmin III, is a loyal advisor of Queen Sindel, as a matter of fact, she's one of the most loyal and highly requested advisors, perhaps only rivaled by High Mage Amara. And due to her prestigious position, I had the privilege of growing up in the royal castle, and more importantly, I got to live with her. My best friend, my soulmate, my princess. My Kitana.

And as my talented tagged writers:

Six Sentence Whatever

Tagged by: @elligatorrex (Thanks for the tag! ๐Ÿ˜Š)

I would like to share six sentences of the first chapter of an story called The Fall Of Edenia (named after the rumored MK Legends movie which turned out to be fake) that I wanted to write for a good friend. First chapter it's about Daegon just after he kills his parents (just before Shao Kahn's invasion in my take):

โ€œThen you want me to follow you? To abandon my realm on the verge of catastrophe to be part ofโ€ฆ your schemes?โ€

โ€œPrecisely.โ€ answered Shinnok. โ€œI want you to abandon this hopeless realm, inhabited by those who would reject you for achieving your rightful retribution against those who betrayed you; be part of my plans to change the state of the realms for a flawless one and then be rewarded for it.โ€ย

Shinnok, who had little patience faking affability towards that boy or pretending to care about his drama for long, opened a portal behind him and turned his back on Daegon.

No pressure tags: @cdr2002 @odie1441 @soulofamy @laismoura-art (you are the awesome people with written fanfics I know in this website ๐Ÿ˜„)

Oooooh, this is nice!๐Ÿ’•

Also, I loved Shinnok just not giving a damn after two seconds of interaction, like

Shinnok: Oh yes, I'm totally interested in your *checks notes* vendetta against your family.

Lmao, what a prick!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you, Lais!

Shinnok being mean is one of the funniest things I do while writing ngl.

He's still Daegon's surrogate dad in my and my friends' works, though. He'll never have a good dad ๐Ÿ˜…

Also, chance to publish this meme in this blog now that I have mentioned that:

Mortal Kombat: The Fall Of Edenia Chapter 1

I have decided to publish the whole thing after those six sentences. It's still a work in progress, so feedback would be very welcomed! ๐Ÿ˜Š

MORTAL KOMBAT: THE FALL OF EDENIA

CHAPTER 1: TRAGEDY BEFORE WAR

The blood was falling from his swords to the ground. The blood of his parents.

Daegon was in a solitary hall of his homeโ€ฆ at least the place he had called home once. He was looking at the ground and breathing slowly, still processing what had just happened.

Everything had happened so fast. Practically a blink of an eye to him. Even now that he knew the truth, it felt like yesterday when he and his brother were called to meet their father in his room. The time he had spent encased in stone was like a dream. What followed was an absolute nightmare.

He didnโ€™t understand anything Caro tried to explain to him after he was awoken. He had been sent to Earthrealm, in a time in which Edenia was still in danger of Shao Kahn targeting it again, just to follow some quest? Some sudden competition with Taven apparently? Was that a plot of his father to choose a worthy heir to be a protector god? He didnโ€™t know anything. He was confused, annoyed. He didnโ€™t want to follow whatever instructions of that quest Caro gave him, he wanted explanations, although he did decide to complete the part of the quest necessary to obtain his drakeswords, just because he felt safer with weapons in his hands after the strange experience he was facing.

After finally convincing Caro to open a portal to Edenia, Daegon was quick to walk towards his house, but he couldnโ€™t help but stop during the way to look at his surroundings. Everything was different. He had walked that way many times, and yet he couldnโ€™t recognize half the people there, and the other half seemed centuries older than he remembered. How much time had he been sealed away against his will!? And that wasnโ€™t even the worst part.

He noticed everyone was scared. Kids running to get close to the security of their houses, adults looking at the sky as if some kind of catastrophic force could fall from it at any given moment. They were so worried they didnโ€™t even notice who he was, despite being quite known in his realm. When he stopped one of the very young children on their way home to ask them what they were scared of, all he received was โ€˜Shao Kahn could come todayโ€™ between shivers before the child followed their path... He had even more answers to demand from his parents.

He didnโ€™t plan to stop further. He was already reaching his house, and was ready to confront his parents. But then he found himself.

Kisam Hionn. A free roaming sorcerer from the distant realm of Nadiro who had visited Edenia with the intention of exchanging knowledge with the legendary sorceress Delia. That was how he had presented himself when he met the family, and it had worked just as he had wished. He started visiting the family frequently, becoming a dear friend of all of them and eventually someone they deeply trusted, enough to share information with him about Deliaโ€™s visions, which was what actually interested him.

He was shocked to find Daegon there. He had just gone there to meet with Argus and Delia another time, meeting him had been a complete coincidence. A much convenient one.

โ€œDaegon.โ€ said Kisam, doing his best to put on a comforting tone of voice. โ€œI was not expecting to see you.โ€

The son of Argus actually felt comforted, if just a little. Him and Kisam had been close. Whenever he felt that his father was favoring Taven in their competition to see who would succeed him as Edeniaโ€™s protector, Kisam had noticed and offered himself to speak with him and let him release his frustrations in private. At this point, he already felt more comfortable around him than with his own parents.

When Kisam asked him what he was doing there, Daegon told him that he planned to confront his parents. He told him that he understood, but he felt that he should first understand what had happened to him, and offered to explain everything. Daegon, in need of answers, accepted. After they went to a solitary street in which no one could hear them, Daegon explained everything.

The nature of the quest his parents had imposed into him, that Armageddon his mother had seen in his visions. Argus and Delia had trusted him enough to share everything with him, apparently, and he was able to explain it with detail to Daegon.

โ€œI had thought your parents would have only put you in this quest if you and your brother offered yourselves voluntary.โ€ he lied, wanting to make sure Daegonโ€™s anger would never be directed towards him. โ€œI now see I committed a mistake.โ€ an idea came to his head. โ€œI think you also have the right to know what happened during your absence.โ€

Everything Daegon was revealed only increased his anger.

He had remained encased for centuries, around the Edenian equivalent of a decade. During that time, Shao Kahn had increased the military power of his Empire by conquering and merging other realms. He once again targeted Edenia, and had just managed to defeat the realm in ten consecutive Mortal Kombat tournaments. Edenia was on the verge of suffering another invasion, and this time the odds were against them.

Daegon also learned what had happened to the close friends he had among the Edenian soldiers he commanded. They were all dead. They had bravely offered themselves to participate in the tournaments against Outworld, and they all failed. Daegon had lost even more than he thought, and his entire realm was on the verge of disaster. He hadnโ€™t been able to do anything about it. All for a ridiculous quest.

Kisam had noticed how Daegonโ€™s fury was at its highest point. And he had mostly just needed to say the truth until that moment. He felt that a little lie would be the perfect ending, though.

โ€œNow it is even more shameful that they planned to assist Taven in his quest and let you on your own in yours. They said you were just their alternative in case he failed, but they trusted him far more to fulfill it in the way they wished.โ€

Daegon had no reason not to believe it at that point. Of course, they had already made him lose part of his life. Why would they above make him lose it for nothing? Just to be in another competition he would lose because Taven, as always, was the suitable one.

Kisam saw in Daegonโ€™s eyes that it was done. He wanted retribution, and no one could stop him.

โ€œI understand your eagerness to confront your parents for their terrible actions. You may go now. I promise I will not do anything to interrupt you.โ€

Daegon did exactly that, and the confrontation had been short. He had no hesitation in releasing his anger. First, he had decapitated his father, then made one of his drakeswords go through his motherโ€™s heart. It was done.

He didnโ€™t know what to feel now that he had unleashed his anger. In a way, he felt satisfied. But he didnโ€™t know what to do from then on. He was powerful, but he wasnโ€™t sure he alone could save Edenia from a much stronger Outworldโ€™s Empire, the first time had already been extremely difficult. Not to mention that he was aware he wouldnโ€™t be accepted by the Edenian people after killing his parents. They were too important figures in their society for anyone to listen to his reasons.ย

Kisam had prepared to offer him answers for the question about his future.

โ€œSo this is how it has ended.โ€ said Kisam, who had just arrived at the hall in which Daegon was.

Daegon turned to speak with Kisam. โ€œYes.โ€ he glared at the floor. โ€œThey deserved it.โ€ he spitted with anger.

Kisam approached him. โ€œOf course they did.โ€ he stopped in front of Daegon. โ€œBut I fear you have other things to worry about now, Daegon. I wish to help you.โ€

Daegon raised his head to look at Kisam face to face. โ€œYouโ€ฆ You do? Iโ€ฆโ€ he struggled to speak. โ€œYou have done so much for me already. I donโ€™t know how to thank you, Iโ€ฆโ€

โ€œReserve any words for later.โ€ interrupted Kisam. โ€œI said I wish to help you, but only if you keep proving your worth, boy.โ€

Daegon looked confused at him, only for them to be shocked when a purple energy surrounded him. When it was removed, Kisamโ€™s appearance had changed. He had just removed his disguise.

His skin had become gray and lifeless. His eyes lost their pupils. His hair was now covered by red headwear, and he now wore red and blue royal clothes decorated with golden details.

It took Daegon just a second to recognize who was actually in front of him. He may have only heard of him in legends and seen old statues of the time before his fall, but the ruler of the Netherrealm was an easily recognizable sight. Daegon instinctively walked away from him and put himself in a defensive fighting stance with his drakeswords raised.

โ€œThisโ€ฆ This cannot beโ€ฆโ€ it was all Daegon could say. โ€œYouโ€ฆ You cannotโ€ฆโ€

โ€œWhy are you surprised?โ€ questioned Shinnok, remaining calm. โ€œI had told you from the start.โ€

โ€œWhatโ€ฆโ€ wondered Daegon, before his mind finally clicked it. โ€œKisam Hionn.โ€

โ€œTook you long enough.โ€ a little smirk appeared in Shinnokโ€™s face. Using that alias in the face of Argusโ€™ family had been his greatest source of comedy for quite some time.

Daegon was questioning himself yet again. It was really the most difficult day in his life.

On the one hand, now he knew that he had lied to him and his whole family for thousands of years. On the other hand, itโ€™s not like he had many options or anyone else he could trust. Besides, something in him deep down still wished he could trust him. He had no one else he could trust now.

โ€œWhat do you want?โ€ he relaxed himself a bit, but still remained on guard.

โ€œA lot of things. And you have the potential to help me obtain them, you have just proved it to me. And in return, I would help you obtain everything you want. I wish to shape the realms in my image, and once it is done, you could have anything.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t even know what I want anymore.โ€ admitted Daegon.

โ€œBecause you lack vision. You still fail to see all the possibilities someone like you has, all you could achieve if you exploited your potential.โ€ argued Shinnok. โ€œI am willing to take part of my precious time to help you see it, if you are not foolish enough to reject it, that is.โ€

โ€œIf you reject my offer, very well. Stay in this realm and perish when Shao Kahnโ€™s invasion comes.โ€ he said. He knew what to say next to give him a last little push. โ€œWith you out of the picture, your parentsโ€™ schemes are far more likely to be fulfilled. Taven will have no competitor in his quest, after all. But if thatโ€™s what you wishโ€ฆโ€

Daegon thought of that possibility. He despised that thought. He didnโ€™t want his parents to have a last victory from the grave. And again, after what he had done and the time he had lost, he didnโ€™t really belong in Edenia anymore, not as it was now nor as it would be if Shao Kahn took it over.

Daegon completely lowered his guard and abandoned his fighting stance. โ€œI will go with you.โ€

Shinnok smiled with satisfaction, and instructed Daegon to cross the portal alongside him. He would still have much to teach him to mold him into the useful tool he wanted, but he hoped that the benefits would be worth the effort. Not only would he win an admittedly powerful ally, but he had the firm belief that Daegon was the brother who would cause a particular result of that future โ€˜Battle of Armageddonโ€™ Delia had seen, one in which everyone actually present there would be permanently destroyed. From what Delia had described, that included Raiden. Much convenient, indeed.

They crossed the portal, and it was closed soon afterwards, leaving the house only filled with the corpses of its previous owners.

On that terrible day, Shinnok obtained a new enforcer, while Edenia lost some of its greatest assets against the invasion which was soon to come. The loss of its protector god and its greatest sorceress had just been the start of the tragedies the realm would suffer.

Extras:

1 - Design for 'Kisam Hionn'

2 - Just as curiosity, 'Kisam' is my way to have Shinnok's betrayal occur 66 million years ago (far before Taven or Daegon are born), but still have him being a family friend like in Armageddon.

ยฐ.โœฆ Here are my Captain America & Batman! โœฆ.ยฐ

Men are quite out of my comfort zone, but after buying "I Am Batman" and watching "Captain America: Brave New World," drawing these two was a MUST!๐Ÿ’•

They would make a fun duo! And though Jace is a bit too weird, I think Sam would find a way to befriend him!

Thank you so much for the tag! ๐Ÿ˜

Now, I think this time I can go for an OC many of my close friends consider their favourite:

Personality

A curious mix, one could say.

She is usually a very snarky, relatively arrogant character. It makes for a great company for her friends and fellow Kahn Guard soldiers, but also for an annoying (as much as threatening) presence for the rest of people.

There are a few contrasts in her personality I have developed over time. One of them is that she can be impulsive, especially when the emotions get the best of her. But, she is ultimately a Commander, a military leader, not just a strong soldier. When she manages to keep her head cold, she is a quick thinker and good strategist.

Another important contrast in her personality, and probably the last I like the most, is that while she is usually provocative towards most people around her (back to the point of her being snarky and cocky), when it comes to receiving orders for superiors or following the Kahn Guard's rules, she barely questions anything. Is my way to show that under the personality she puts in front of almost anyone, there's an indoctrinated soldier.

There are other bits I could comment here and there, but I feel these are the most important ones.

Aesthetic

As can be seen in the design above, her main costume is one you expect of a Kahn Guard soldier, a mostly red and black armor fitting for a soldier.

There's also the alt I made for her, in which I kept the black and red but tried to give her a more 'classic/victorian' vampire look.

Favourite thing about her

Probably how I show the fucked up mentality of Reiko and the Kahn Guard through her character and story.

Carmilla is, for the lack of a better term, Reiko's Reiko. As I point out in her bio, her backstory is on purpose similar to the backstory I have for Reiko, which I haven't posted yet but is similar to his New Era self:

Through Carmilla I want to show how their story is a pattern in the Kahn Guard, what they believe in, what they spread through indoctrination.

From Reiko's point of view, taking Carmilla to be indoctrinated into his military cult was making her a favor. It was what Shao Kahn once did to him, what he thinks is right and will help others triumph like he did. And it's surely also Carmilla's current point of view too.

A friend of mine told me he found this bit of her to be one of the darkest things I have ever written, but loved it nonetheless, so I just feel very proud of it now. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Fun facts

I think I can mention two:

1 - Her name comes from the classic literature vampire, but I discovered the name due to the Carmilla from Castlevania. I actually made a meeting between this character and the version of Carmilla from the Castlevania Netflix series thanks to the latter's public Hero Forge mini, which may be fun to show now:

2 - So fun little story. One of my friends once commented that she thought Tory from Cobra Kai would be a good face model for her.

Another of my friends then commented that she couldn't unsee her as Emma Ross, from the Disney Channel show called Jessie, because they have the same actress.

And from that little fun moment I decided that Carmilla was a girlscout when she still lived in her home village ๐Ÿ˜‚ Probably sold chocolate cookies but with blood instead of chocolate.

10. Does your OC have a type? Have they ever been surprised by their feelings for someone who doesn't fit this?

14. If they wish to impress someone for whom they have romantic (or at least sexual) feelings, does your OC attempt to present themselves as more confident, wealthy, popular or otherwise impressive, than they truly are?

15. Is your OC easy to love? If not, then what are the barriers?

For Karia :3

Avatar

10 - Yes, I would say that Karia would have a type, if a very broad specific one: people who complement her. The bonds she forms with people similar to her (Reiko, Hideyoshi) are completely platonic, maybe family-like.

For Karia to fall in love with someone, I would say she would have to meet someone who can help her advance as a person in some way, as well as having enough time to form an emotional bond with them. Maybe someone more outgoing or cheerful in comparison to her serious and professional persona, for example.

For now, unless I change my mind, she has never fallen in love, too focused on her job to bond emotionally at that level, so she's never been disappointed.

14 - Maybe she would, a little bit. If she ever fell in love with someone, she may try to learn some skill they like just to impress them.

15 - Em... Yesn't? Depends.

She is a loyal Kahn Guard soldier, believes in a system based in conquest, indoctrination, tyranny, etc. She is just awful news for most poor people across the realms, especially rebels trying to take back their stolen realms.

If a loved one doesn't share her ideals, things just become uncomfortable and toxic with her until everything explodes. To give an example, my friend @etherealada05 created an OC who is a Kreeyan rebel against Shao Kahn, called Lana. Being a Kreeyan, she's Karia's sister and we have written them interacting many times. Their dynamic basically consists in that Karia still loves Lana as much as she loves any other of her sisters, but unlike Lana she refuses to renounce to the objective she was created and raised to fulfill (create an unstoppable Empire which unifies all realms, even if it's without Kreeya), so they inevitably get into conflict with one another despite that. Basically the same would happen if she fell in love with someone but they didn't share her ideals.

If her loved one were a loyal Kahn Guard soldier or just someone with similar ideals to her, though, things would be easy. She is many things (usually bad things), but caring and respectful towards her allies is one of them.

For any OC(s) of your choice!

Does your OC prefer the beauty of nature or the bustle of the big city?

Does your OC have a go-to insult when people irritate them or let them down?

What habit should your OC really try to break, but almost certainly never will?

Does your OC prefer the beauty of nature or the bustle of the big city?

She lives in the big city in New York, but doesn't actually mind either. You can be sure she goes with her family to big beautiful places full of nature at holidays! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Does your OC have a go-to insult when people irritate them or let them down?

She is usually cheerful, so she would just ignore most people who irritate her. She does have her limits, though, especially if someone she cares about lets her down. As an example, I'll let below a mini story I made in form of intro dialogues about her confronting another sibling of Johnny, created for a 2000s web series called Federation Of Martial Arts, Jimmy Cage (who is a member of the Black Dragon for some reason).

What habit should your OC really try to break, but almost certainly never will?

She eats the carrot cakes her wife Victoria prepares her from time to time so fast that she barely breaths in the process. She is never going to stop doing that no matter how much Johnny and Vicky tell her not to. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Also, since she is a civilian in the very dangerous Mortal Kombat world, she should stay in safe places during the most dangerous events. Her thoughts related to how she could do more never allow her to, however. She is going to be part of a civilian rescue team during Shao Kahn's invasion, for example, which is very dangerous even if it's not directly involved in the action of the battlefield.

Does your OC prefer the beauty of nature or the bustle of the big city?

Unlike her wife, she would prefer the city. I see her as someone who has very bad luck with most natural environments, cannot stand things like insects flying around her and the likes. She still follows Becky when she goes to those places on holidays, though โค๏ธ (just complaints 80% of the time ๐Ÿ˜‘).

Does your OC have a go-to insult when people irritate them or let them down?

Insults. If someone pisses her off enough, she probably gives them a ๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿป or lets her spanish side go out and proceeds to cagarse en sus muertos.

What habit should your OC really try to break, but almost certainly never will?

Similar to Becky, Vicky (and Stryker and Johnny, for that matter) should probably stay away from the action in MK stories, because, while she does know how to fight, invasions or the likes are things of a much greater scale than she was ever prepared for. She is just as emotionally and psychologically vulnerable in that regard as Becky, but she also cannot just stay aside while terrible things happen and will still try to fight (as Stryker canonically does).

Also, she is a bit of a workalcoholic like Sonya. She will try to let some of the habits related to that aside eventually, but maybe a bit of it will remain.

Does your OC prefer the beauty of nature or the bustle of the big city?

Nature. In my head her home village was full of it, so she would like to be reminded of it as much as possible.

Does your OC have a go-to insult when people irritate them or let them down?

Quite the contrary. She has self-estreem issues due to the guilt she feels for helping Shao Kahn get the throne of Outworld, so she is more prone to ignore people annoying her, or even agree when they insult her. She also has exceptions and limits for this, though (definitely would insult people she hates like Shao Kahn).

What habit should your OC really try to break, but almost certainly never will?

As mentioned, self-esteem issues, and while a good part of her character arc will be her accepting she can still do good and surpass a good part of those issues, possibly a bit of guilt will always be with her. She is similar to Shujinko when it comes to that.
