I was trying to capture a bit of 907's constant swiveling so I could show someone what his fishing technique is really like and BAM, he caught a fish at the perfect moment!

11/10, no notes. Love this guy. ๐Ÿ˜

i would like to stress that he does this Literally Constantly. 907 never stops swivelling when he's fishing up there. this isn't, like, a thing he does sometimes for a while and then he acts normal for a while. this is just the way he fishes the lip. constantly. forever.

people joke that he's trying to hypnotize the fish

Just how awful is the Netflix DMC series? I know it's bad, but does this surpass DmC 2013 in terms of awfulness? I thought DmC 2013 was the worst thing to happen to the franchise, but I'm starting to wonder if the Netflix series will take that position.

The American Military invades hell while Green Days American Idiot plays, and demons are portrayed as hijab wearing Arabs that are being subjected to war crimes by jingoistic soldiers waving the American flag and posing for selfies.

Need I go on? DON'T WORRY I'M GOING TO ANYWAY!

Lady is turned into a generic girlboss. Her antagonistic barb filled ice queen personality was specifically portrayed as a COPING MECHANISM and BAD THING that she had to get over in DMC3 as part of that games themes of children maturing by confronting the sins of their parents. But in the show it's played straight and we're supposed to yell Yaas Slay Queen at the screen. She's the no fun marvel mommy who punches Dante in the face for his wacky antics.

Dante is reduced to a slippery penis man who trips on his balls and goes boom. It's exactly the kind of characterization I would expect from somebody who's only perception of the character comes from "wahoo wacky pizza man" memes and not from ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAMES

Every song from the games is just from DMC5 and the covers suck ass.

It looks HIDEOUS

It's about as bad as DmC Devil May Cry, I'd say.

oh wait a couple more numbers for fun!! of the people who get through their first few cycles in rain world, 27.4%, the number of people who reach the first major story checkpoint is 13.6% which means that about half of the people who stuck with the game after those opening moments got through multiple zones to shoreline.

and comparing that to the 10.6% of people who beat the game, almost 4/5 of the people who reached that first story moment stayed til the end

its really fun for me to look at steam achievements to get a sense of how people engaged with a game. like in return of the obra dinn 62.2% of people who have opened it up have basically just gotten through the tutorial which is a pretty significant loss! BUT the number of people who have fully completed the game and solved the mystery is 44.7% so pretty good player retention overall after the intro, a bit over 2/3

this is of course going to be affected by the length of the game, like portal is really short and has a completion rate of 52.1% but as a comparison getting through the very first sequence of the game has a much higher rate of 81.1%! comparable retention at about 2/3 even if the numbers are lower

ANYWAY what's really fascinating to me is to compare very different games that are considered very hard by most people. dark souls 1 remastered has a completion rate of 30% (give or take cause theres two endings but this is the more popular one so just consider that the real number is slightly higher) which is fun to compare with prepare to die edition which is widely considered the inferior pc port and has a much lower 16.9%. and for more data 96.6% of people who boot up ds1 remastered get to the first bonfire which is wild to me how much higher that is than just getting the portal gun. but also way less player retention at about 3/10 (or 1/3 if we're making numbers nicer for fun and ignoring some things)

the really fucking funny one is rain world though since of the people who load up the game only 27.4% get the first achievement (surviving for five cycles) which is crazy. and 10.6% finish one of the base campaigns meaning that despite extremely few people sticking with the game past the first few moments, of those people there's a similar retention rate at a little below 1/3!

i don't know why my images are so blurry im sorry. enjoy your numbers :)

i do think the single most affecting moment ive had so far in rain world was finding the pearl on the way to outer expanse and looking up what it contains with moon saying that everything beyond their superstructures is basically an uninhabitable wasteland and that she wonders whether people saying you could see the sun were even telling the truth. and then you continue out a little farther and make it to the top of the tree and the clouds part and you can see the sky and its like oh..........
