unfortunately, since i started up the goal requesting we urgently raise $2,300 for samah to be able to evacuate ammar from the hospital, we only received $30 total, not including what had previously been raised for the passport funds.
this was clearly going nowhere fast, with very few donations coming in to the ko-fi - samah was hoping to evacuate before the end of the week. as a result, i had no choice but to gather my friends for help for what funds i could and send most of the money myself.
this is something we did just in the nick of time, because today the nasser hospital, which ammar had been in care at, was bombed by israel. one of the rooms bombed was, in fact, an intensive care room directly beside the one ammar had been in.
if they had still been there, it is entirely likely they would have been among the dead.
with ammar and samah away from the hospital, she now has to start over entirely with her passport goal - we were able to receive some donations today, and some of the amount was kept from the previous fundraising, so it is not a completely 0, but it is very close.
she has set the goal even lower - these are only the funds that the passport processing costs. the price for travelling and visa expenses we have agreed to split to a second goal.
with nasser hospital once again attacked, there is nowhere for ammar to go back to for any treatment.
please help samah get these passports as quickly as possible. there is no peace possible for her or ammar here. if people do not donate, ammar will simply die here, whether quickly or slowly. i cannot emphasise this enough.
