my friend just told me that there's a secret second dashboard that solely contains posts from people you've turned on post notifications for, and when i click the link in the messages it opens it within the tumblr app, so the tumblr app also has a secret second dashboard for post notification blogs, and the only way to access it is to open the link for it within the app.

i literally love tumblr

Hey @wip would be nice to have this as a UI option; maybe it could replace the terrible swipe right camera mode

Last year I got a little wasp problem when wasps decided that my balcony's wooden ceiling would be a perfect spot for a nest. The nest apparently was never finished and I found large pieces of it on the floor but I still contacted maintenance to ask what to do.

The maintenance came to visit and didn't find any nest, so that's good. I was told that I should put a crocheted fake wasp nest on my balcony, near the spot wasps favor, because they refuse to built a nest on someone else's territory. Better yet, fill the nest with newspaper because it smells like a wasp nest.

I found some handmade nests online and I'm going to give it a try! Many of the sellers said that they and their friends and family have been using the fake nests successfully for years in home, summer cottages, outdoor buildings etc.

Sharing this here because I didn't even know about such a solution! I hope it helps anyone who wants to keep unwanted wasps away from certain parts of their home and yard.

It's been almost 5 months now with these fake beehives. I was told that these won't work because bees navigate by scent, not by vision, but guys:

5 months and I have not seen a single bee or a wasp on my balcony!

Last year they tried to built a nest, same as a year before that. I've lived 10 years in this apartment and bees and wasps have always been an issue on my balcony, even when I have no flowers there.

So, even if science says that this doesn't work, it has worked for me. I had no need for an exterminator. It was that bad before these fake hives.

Big recommendations! Easy, won't harm nature, extremely bee and wasp friendly.

Since spring is here, I want to bring this one out again for friendly way to keep bees and wasps away from places where you don't want them to be.

For those of you that may have just finished watching Cory Booker’s record-breaking senate speech and are inspired to “get in good trouble”, you have a great opportunity for it this Saturday!

On April 5th, numerous advocacy groups are banding together into one nation-wide rally that will be held in major cities all over the country - you can easily find a participating location here!

I’ll be volunteering as a safety captain at my own local rally, and I encourage all of you to go out there too and get in some good trouble as well!

for the record when I say a lot of major cities I mean a LOT of major cities :P

I haven’t been on tumblr for a few hours am I hallucinating or is everything bigger

Why are all the buttons on the posts huge now is this just a phone thing 😭

Comparison photos i got from pinterest. I swear things have gotten bigger AND smaller its so weird:

It’s an accessibility feature!! I do accessible UI design for work, and I’ve always seen people complaining about how hard it is to click on certain UI buttons, or how they were easy to mis-click.

For example - because of the larger button size, the swipe-with-right-thumb-to-scroll motion no longer activates the swipe-for-quick-action feature of the share post button, meaning that people are less likely to accidentally DM each other posts while scrolling the dash.

And similarly, now that the username header is bigger, it’s easier to click the blank space around a username to get to the original version of a post/reblog. (I still think that nav should be in the kebob menu for REAL accessibility and consistent UX, especially since it IS in the kebob menu in the notes, but I digress)

As for the circle avatars, my guess would be that a project manager said: since you are updating the post viewing UX anyway, can we make the avatar icons more consistent with how they appear at the top of an individual blog?

Now I’m just hoping they apply this same accessibility update to the toolbars as well!

Fake Dating but at the end it’s still fake and they both walk away from it with their friendship as strong as ever

There was only one bed and they shared it without problems because they’re both adults that can be normal about intimacy

Still can't get over the fact that Toby Fox dreamed up a game ending, but he decided he wanted to make something a little less ambitious first, so instead he made the most influential indie game of all time

the thing that's fun about parker and elliot is that elliot is clearly used to being the most extreme and damaged person in the room but anything he's done parker has done it worse and weirder to a degree that makes him feel genuinely outclassed

i think maggie would be the only person in the leverage universe who DOES notice the leverage team members occasionally becoming famous. like she’d tune into the world news and then have to call the team to check if sophie really died in a small european country during a turbulent election. "no but wasn’t my funeral so poignant? they put my face on the $20 note!" okay great glad to know you’re not dead. she watches a game of baseball on TV and just sighs deeply when the camera pans to eliot. next time she sees the team, she compliments his baseball skills. for some reason he mutters something about a sandwich while looking wistfully into the distance.

The thing about Leverage is that even on the rare occasions where I don't believe a normal person would fall for something, I 100% believe a billionaire who's never been told "no" would. This is the same group of people that tried to visit the Titanic with a video game controller

Leverage has done this thing to my brain where I can't believe the actors in any other role to be real. I realised Beth was in Criminal Minds as Reid's gf who they didn't meet the whole episode and he conversed with only over the internet and then she died tragically right before they could save her and I was like of COURSE Sophie must've run the con this time coz who else would do such an elaborate death scene. I saw Aldis Hodge as a DC character and I was like oh Hardison is really playing with fire I mean using technology to spoof being a superhero among actual supers? What job are they even pulling this time? I saw Christian in SPN and went oh so they're stealing something occult back oh that's nice. Like. Every character they've ever played and will ever play could be their leverage character undercover pulling a con

Pitching Leverage to a socialist friend: "The heist team gets hired by people who have been victimized by these corporate baddies, so there is always a scene at the beginning where some lady is telling the team 'my dad died because he couldn't afford his diabetes medication after the new factory owner Joshua Dirtbag the Third cut his hours' and the team is like 'say no more. we will put on elaborate disguises and convince him to bet on a fake racehorse, and somehow at the end of it you will have all his money and he will go to jail'."

they really decided to circumvent the “good guys are boring” issue by making nate the most unhinged out of the group. he starts acting like a rabid dog menacing the carcass of its prey as soon as he gets a drink in him or someone mentions hospitals. he hid in a trunk for six days to make a bust at his REGULAR PERSON DAY JOB. he feels guilty for cheating on his wife with an art thief even though he literally did not do that. his go-to guy to play in a grift is Mediocre Grifter. his dad was a mob boss and so he decided to be an insurance guy. both the women he’s been in love with are so beautiful, so powerful, and so fucking tired of his self-destructive bullshit.

so the thing about Leverage is that by the fifth season you'll get to an episode called "The D.B. Cooper Job" and think to yourself, ah, of course, this thematic title hints at some kind of aerial crime, or perhaps a case of needing to vanish with a lot of money. Which is why it is so fucking insane that two minutes into the episode Agent McSweeten looks directly onto the camera and asks "hey can you guys please literally solve the real actual D.B. Cooper cold case. it would really mean a lot to my dad."
