Leo is at least 90% of Raph’s impulse control.
Leo just grabs him out of instinct at this point.
HC: it’s almost to a fault at this point. Raph will step forward hurriedly while they’re making dinner in the kitchen and Leo reaches out like “Raph NO keep your cool—“ “LEO THE PASTA IS LITERALLY ON FIRE GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY DONNIE WHERES THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER”
It’s also kinda funny to think that Mona Lisa does it to, basically taking over that position when Leo’s not around
Headcanon that Leo is just relieved that Raph and his outburst will be someone else’s problem in the future XD 
omg STOP cuz now you got me imagining a slightly tipsy leo giving his best man speech and at the end him just going “this mf has barely listened to me for years, have fun” and just taking a full swig of beer because thank god he’s got someone else to make sure raph doesn’t get into a full brawl every other patrol now
