why is children’s media so marginally funnier than anything written for adults

like obviously not poop humor or pop culture references but why does some children’s media have some of the wittiest, perfectly timed humor!!!!!

it’s amazing how well a joke can carry when it’s not some uninspired version of “i started crying into my salad at work because i realized i’m stuck in a capitalist nightmare and life has no meaning! HAHA! and btw did you know that we’re all going to die someday :D” that i hate
