Republican Idiots

@republicanidiots / republicanidiots.tumblr.com

This started as a political blog about Republican idiots but now it's just an anti-bullshit blog regardless of the party. Plus there's some good people doing good things. And science. And art. And history. And swearing.

🚨BREAKING: Italian AVS political party - claims that Luigi Mangione has a dual American & Italian citizenship and asks Italian government to intervene and stop the U.S. from executing an Italian citizen, as it has done so in the past. Italy abolished the death

Marco Grimaldi, a member of Italian Parliament & the group leader of Alleanza Verdi Sinistra(AVS) has issued the parliamentary question about this. Source:

Dear Rest of the World,

You may be wondering why Americans aren't addressing this...disaster. Without going into details, I'd like to suggest that you imagine the US as a two-headed man. One side is a lawyer named Cynthia and she's normal. The other side is a mutant nicknamed DOGE, which is short for Dickweed of Gelatinous Ectoplasm. Right now the Dickweed has the keys to the car. Cynthia is sitting beside him but there's not much she can do. Cynthia's been trying to get DOGE committed since 2016 but nothing --- absofuckinglutely NOTHING -- has worked. So right now we -- those of us who recognize the danger -- just can't do much. The people who can do something won't because the mutant is handing them bags of gold (that bit is NOT an analogy). So anyway. I'm sorry. Well, Cynthia the lawyer is sorry. The mutants are delighted.

One thing I'd like to mention for no particular reason is that 71% of our GDP comes from the East and West coasts of the US. That's California, New York, Massachsetts, etc. I think most of these places would look very favorably upon sharing the car with another...lawyer.

Signed,

American Person

look at all these countries out here showing who they are under covid-19 panic

Italy: raising their voices together in song for art and beauty to contrast the bad

Viet Nam: valuing community and family above all else, reaching down to help people at the bottom of society up so that all may thrive

South Korea: decisive and efficient, utilizing a cultural value on conformity to react swiftly and comphrensively to prevent disaster

USA: brutal racism as an anthem, survival of the richest, selfish idiots who value “doin’ it for the gram” over their neighbor’s life, will likely start killing each other after the first white person dies for lack of access to a ventilator

Great Britain: eugenics and a shrug

Despite being stuck in their homes residents in Italy’s capital had not lost their spirits as they took to their windows and balconies to applaud medical staff fighting the coronavirus on Saturday. At noon people came out on their balconies, terraces, gardens or simply leaned out from open windows to clap for several minutes in a gesture of thanks for the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff and ambulance crews who have been treating and helping infected patients. In several neighbourhoods of Rome people clapped hands, waved the national flag and shouted for people to stay united and strong.Italy is the European country worst-hit by the virus outbreak.

The most hilarious part of italians’ reaction to coronavirus/covid19 has been them stockpiling EVERY SINGLE type of pasta except the PENNE LISCE

which Italians couldn’t bring themselves to buy or eat even during a mass psychosis

The moment italians start buying penne lisce will be the moment we know our society has truly collapsed

Listen, if I'm gonna die, my last meal is NOT gonna be fucking penne lisce.

Someone explain please! I want to knowwww

Penne lische is smooth and doesn’t hold sauce the way penne rigate does

The grooves make more sauce adhere to it

wait that picture up there then ACTUALLY is of a smooth tube and not just. a bad picture? smooth penne exists? that's horrifying the ridges are the best part it's like eating a tiny accordion

And that is why it is an abomination.

Disgusting. Vile. I would die before eating that filth.

Things heating up in the pasta fandom Italian community.
