@robotshellyeah

we give Lennier a lot of shit but in his defense if I worked closely with Delenn every day for 5 years, I too would fall so helplessly in love with her that I would have no choice but to be extremely weird about it

one thing I am appreciating in the Babylon 5 rewatch is how absolutely gorgeous they made the frame composition and lighting of the show

like they did not have to go so hard with this shot from Confessions and Lamentations (when Sheridan opens up the Marcab quarantine zone and Delenn and Lennier stumble out through a pile of bodies) and yet look at how fucking stunning this is

the light, the arrangement like a renaissance painting, it all calls back to the religious themes from the episode and it heightens the emotional weight of seeing that they weren't fast enough finding a cure for the disease

B5 of course likes to play thematically with light and shadows, and I just love that it makes the show so visually interesting

The Orville is *still* a show that makes me insane. What do you mean the entire future of the galaxy was irrevocably altered because a robot, who had no capacity for emotions, loved a little boy anyway? What do you mean we have alternate timeline proof that he loved that child enough to save the galaxy? What do you meannnnn

every time g’kar busted out that stupidly low cut robe this was all that went through my head

ref + a close-up of the londo pfp under the cut

ISN reporter Cynthia Torqueman and her viewers after they try to get a fun interview with Dr. Franklin and instead he goes on a several minute extremely detailed monologue about how he once watched his childhood friend get accidentally shot out of an airlock and die painfully in space

Star Trek (2009) is a Legally Blonde au

especially when you consider that the dark-haired classmate eventually becomes the blonde lead character’s best friend, and the blonde lead character makes something amazing of themself in the school they never intended on applying to

foundation showrunners were geniuses to cast the beautiful bisexual 6’5 lee pace and tits to lure people into a very complex science fiction show.

lee knew what he was doing with this ridiculous angle

Cleon I didnt need to reprogram Demerzel he literally just needed to show her this

just rewatched the B5 episode All Alone in the Night

I thought it was interesting how Sheridan and General Hague's conversation parallels Londo and Refa's - in both cases Londo and Sheridan are visited by high-ranking members of their own governments who suggest an alliance to work against the leadership of their government (commit treason) because they think that their society is headed in the wrong direction.

the viewer "knows" that when Londo does it, it's wrong and he is being tempted by evil, but when Sheridan does it, it's correct and honorable - partly because it's evident from the storytelling, and partly because we are humans watching the show and we understand Sheridan's position. but it's interesting to imagine that a centauri viewer might watch Sheridan consider treason and feel the same unease that we felt watching Londo conspire to undermine the emperor.

obviously the two situations are not equivalent, but it's fun to consider the human biases of the audience

I sort of thought everyone was exaggerating the Sheridan x oranges thing (I remembered the comment about oranges in his first appearance, but nothing else) but I'm rewatching now and damn if this man isn't eating an orange or drinking orange juice in every single fucking episode

JMS has never said anything more incorrect than when he said (about changing Na'toth's actress) "we found someone who's very right for the part; and though we weren't confined to this, is actually about the same height, same build, same attitude as Caitlin, and whose voice is very similar. I don't think much difference will be noted in the long run, really."

like I'm sorry but the difference was very much noted
