joe liebgott ur so crazy. he’s like I hate this guy but I’m gonna touch him at every opportunity and never leave him alone. I hate this guy but I’m going to switch seats in the truck to yap his ear off and ask him what he’s going to do when he gets home. I hate this guy but I’m going to try my damnedest to relate to him even if I kind of look like an idiot in the process. I hate this guy but I’m going to bring him on this very emotionally charged revenge mission even when he doesn’t want to be here. I hate this guy but when he betrays me my heart is going to shatter into a million pieces. most of the time assigning heterosexual roles to gay couples is cringe and shitty but when it comes to the 1940s and the military if the internalised homophobia was as real as it was likely to be then they'd be assigning hetero roles to THEMSELVES in some ways and as an avid fan of internalised homophobia in fiction* I love it when we refer to one guy as another guy's wife or when fics highlight how much they wanna get married or how much one wishes he could have the other guy's children or whatever. because of society. but i love that shit i love it when they make themselves either deliriously happy in these fake constructed roles, or unbearably miserable knowing they'll never live up to it
