i'm in regular contact with nour and i want to highlight the following: 1) her youngest daughter ghazal, who is only two years old, has developed a speech impediment from the trauma of this situation, and her 13 year-old son muhammad has developed an autoimmune issue from lack of sanitation, constant insect bites and exposure to unclean water, recurring illness, etc. 2) my friends recently sent money to help nour buy winter clothes for her children, the prices of which will knock out a lot of what she received due to high demand and low supply. the costs of food, medical treatment, etc. are still very high. 3) many of nour's extended family members benefit from these funds as well. these are people who were already poor before the war, and now they can't work. all they can do is find internet hotspots and ask for help. that's where we come in. if reading this distresses you, and if you're mad about tumblr deleting palestinians' accounts, the good news is that you're not helpless: even tiny donations make a difference.

I'm in Wilmington - the dot on the lower end of the coast. We are watching our mountain and foothills brothers and sisters and SOBBING for them. We're also rallying. We have been on the receiving end of so much care from them for our disasters, and now we are responding to theirs.

They were not only not prepared for this, there was no way for them to be. It wasn't just water, the entire earth moved.

They are still in the panic response - trying to get out, find family and friends, and just survive one day so they can try to survive another. Don't make it harder for them. If you are traveling anywhere near the effected areas - don't. They need the gas, groceries, and access to driveable roads more than you do.

Donate to the Red Cross if you can. Cash is needed to move resources and supplies to those who need it.

african migrant workers are being abandoned by rich lebanese families who have evacuated the genocide. some employers have denied them access to their passports and forced them to stay in their houses in lebanon. when these workers escape to shelters they are kicked out. some of those workers have died in the israeli bombings.

the anti-racism movement (arm) is fundraising to help support migrant workers during this time.
